Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated. Taking friends to Udon Thani and they are interested in best bar "entertainment" areas. Also Beer Garden type "Freelance" bars like Soi 7 BKK and Beer Bars like in Pattaya. 

 

None of us ever been to Udon, so just looking for some simple suggestions of best areas and/or favorite bars.

Then you need to be heading for 'Nutty Park' which is on Prajak Sillapakom between the Central Plaza and UD Town shopping/dining area.

 

Alternately try the 'Day & Night' bar complex next to the Pannaria Hotel on Samphan Thamit Alley, just a short walk from Central Plaza.

If that's what you like, stay there.

Don't set expectations high.

Offerings/choices are a fraction of what you are used from Pattaya or Bangkok.

And Covid has taken it's toll too.

 

It's never changed soi sampahn tahmit (google maps will sort ya ????) past Central as you head towards the railway. Mostly nutty Park and day-night. Udon was far better before central was built as many bars and nightclubs, and the once awesome Leo beergarden that were all on the main street disappeared. 

  Day night imo <deleted>s on nutty Park but it ain't pattaya. Having said that a lot of workers have come home due to covid so there is some girls around.

   If ya game ya better off taking on UD town or the big thai disco at the back of Central sawang daeng I think? Plenty of diamonds in the rough to be found also plenty of good times .

  There is really only 1 "area" though. Other beer bars scattered around and out wide but once ya there ya sorta there .

I personally am more than happy to go to the Sports Bar, Sampanthamit, have a nice warm cup of cocoa, a  game of Dominoes and chat in French with Canadian Johnny

Tawan Daeng been closed a long time , they renovated , looks like they may open soon but who knows

There isn't much night life in Udon those days, I guess soi Sampan is the only place left

Udon Thani is very, very quiet at the moment, many new hotels built/being built in soi sapang (hope I spelt it right) replacing bars (the main Street for the bars you are looking for) Night and Day is horrible (just my opinion) Nutty Park nicer, just around the corner of soi sapang (bottom end) if you want cheap beer to start, top end of soi sapang . Viking Bar, happy hour until 8-00 pm Leo 55 baht (small) just around corner is a nice bar Leo 50 baht (have sport TV) not big but nice (2nd bar down) Enjoy

I liked that bar, talked to my friends who live in Udon, heard one or two bad things from them, not sure if true

Thats the only with girls that seems to be regularly busy of an evening. Often seem to be throwing parties as well.

I normally drink at the Brickhouse if I’m about. It’s a decent bar bit no good for the mongers.

Brickhouse is opposite Fun Bar so get a kerbside table around 5:30 and while you dine, you can pre-select your prey across the street as they get ready for work. Around 7-ish, you pay your bill, cross the street and go for the kill.

 

Friday's are best but keep a look out for the mid-life crisis yabaa-addled 'regulars' stirring the pot. Sometimes they fall out with each other which can be quite entertaining.

      I also enjoy the view ,  as they arrive @ Fun Bar ,

       in their Uni , uniforms ..

 Many young girls , and not many old farlangs . Paradise .

   Then Mister Tongs , where you payed more , for better quality ...

    That was well before , Soi Sampan , DnN , Nutty , etc ..

     

Friends and I drink there regularly and there are plenty of bars to drink at.  Never witnessed closing times of 10pm.

Update :Spent 6 nights at The Pannarai. Despite expectations being zero, a delightful time was had all around and especially considering how decimated the nightspots are by all the "Scamdemic" BS. Great restaurants, bars and even girls. Attitudes are better than been here in T-land for a decade +. Always diamonds in the rough to be mined and Thai lingo skills always a big plus. Not saying would go out of the way for a visit, but since needed to be here for a while, found it much better than expected. 

Bars in Udon are now closed for two weeks.

Its called Soi Sampanthamit. A 2 minute walk from Central Plaza shopping centre.

Located at the back of Bangkok hospital.
