Supreme Court orders Ratchaburi MP Pareena to stop performing duty as a legislator

Pareena Kraikupt

Palang Pracharat MP for Ratchaburi province, Pareena Kraikupt, was ordered to stop performing her duties as a legislator, from today (Thursday), by the Criminal Division for Political Office Holders of Thailand’s Supreme Court.

The order came after the court agreed to accept a petition, from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), for the court to consider its allegation that Pareena had committed a gross violation of ethical conduct by encroaching on forest reserves in Ratchaburi province.

The suspension of duty is in line with the organic law, which states that an MP must stop performing his or her duty as an MP after the court accepts a case in which an MP is accused of a gross violation of ethical conduct.

Personally, I find her abhorrent. Not attractive in any way, shape or form.

Sh'es everything that is wrong with Thailand and then some. ????

she sat in the parliament for 1.5 years after being charged.

So very slow prosecution work.

some her political opponents are remanded in much less obvious cases, like reading statements on bangkok streets

But have a heart, she's special;  laws, regulations and morals don't apply to her.

I think we're still waiting for the constitutional court to make it's mind up on that one. Or did he get a 'get outta jail" card from his first wife upon marriage to his second wife? Dirty boy, that Thamanat: two wifes and multiple identities.

Is there a case at the constitutional court about this if so good and interesting. I thought it was a done deal already. (its a huge shame that he is in goverment but shows how morally corrupt the goverment is)

Juvenile comment. I doubt she would consider you so much as a car wash attendant.

Given his 'multi faceted' negative record I doubt the pm would have considered him for any role without pressures which the pm can't surmount. And seems to me that's proven by the ridiculous amount of time it's taken for the C court to make a ruling on a case which should have taken 1 minute to hear with an automatic 'cannot' finding.

About damned time she was sidelined.  Time for the rest of the other ones to be suspended as well.  Wonder why the little fat man was not held to the same standard when the watch scandal broke.

So there is a supreme court case.. and yes its crazy that it takes so long. I mean the guy is a proven drug dealer. Just not in Thailand but that does not make his conviction any less. If any it makes it more credible. But I think your right the guy was probably forced upon the PM by some group. If this guy gets kicked out it might (lets hope so) tear the government up.
