You're not Scottish are you? ????

No, you know that -  English. The only International worth watching years ago was the Eng v Scot ones. Only one that mattered due to intense rivalry. Of course I always like England to win but a good intense game was far more important. There really were some <deleted> games where one team was dominant but hardly entertaining. That was the problem with the home internationals, generally NI or Wales were the weakest two. Anyway all the best for tonight. Of course England want a win to automatically go thro' but Scotland need one to stay in the chase . So long as you jocks leave the goal posts intact this time and don't steal the turf all should be ok????

I remember when I was at primary school, everyone knew someone who had a piece of the Webley turf!

Yes, it's always a good game, regardless of the outcome. Of course, we prefer our team to win. Good luck:)

Surprised not to see Grealish or Sancho start.

Scotland will sit on and Grealish is the kind of player to unpick them.

Good to see Magoo only on the bench.

I guess it was inevitable Sumo would  get a game.

Just watched the highlights. Well there were no highlights as far as the England team were concerned and I am English. Scotland did well for a draw yet on the balance of play, at least the parts I saw, they deserved the win. Not sure what Southgate is up to and Harry Kane in this and the last match appears more concentrated on his next move to PSG ? then he does playing for England.. Problem is now that with the next England game against the Czech  Rep they could just connive for a draw so that they both go through even if Scotland win their last game.

I think Scotland did well, especially as they have worse players than England by a long way. I only watched the first half before falling asleep.

After yesterdays performance I can see the Czechs taking it to England and beating us !!...

England just looked lethargic - it seemed that Only Foden had the ‘fight’ in him. I suspect Southgate took him off before he got himself sent off, this is where he needed his captain to guide him. We needed Foden’s fire on the pitch for the whole game.

Kane was slow and neutralised from the start, he looked unfit. Grealish should have come on at half time.

After yesterday’s performance I can see Scotland neutralising Croatia, I hope Scotland do beat Croatia, but I just can’t see that happening though.

Strange but as an Englishman if England do get beaten and the Scots win then I would be pleased that justice was seen to be done as much as I find that hard to admit

I think the Scots will be found wanting against Croatia even though Croatia have not been great.

They got a point from their Cup Final last evening but may still end up going out of the comp if England and Czech contrive a draw.

At least no one was injured so no need to make any changes.

A win against Croatia would almost certainly see Scotland through as third place with 4 pts is likely enough.

I genuinely hope you get it Ronnie. You deserved the 3 points last night, England were outplayed and lucky.
Croatia will need the points too so it will be a tough game.

It would be great if all 3 countries could progress.

Believe me, Ronnie's feelings aren't mutual. He wants us out ASAP.

Just to mention I got an SMS the other day from TrueVisions, saying games would be on True Sports HD (channel 666) as well as True Sports HD 3 (channel 668).

I wasn't sure at the time but I suspected it would be to cover the final group games where both are played simultaneously.

I had a look at the schedules just now and that's the case. TSHD has Switzerland vs Turkey tonight and TSHD3 has Italy vs Wales.

Snap...my comments copied from another forum......

What a load of ****......James kicked the ball forwards once in the whole match......Stones can't play football.....Kane couldn't give a ****......Foden taken off WHY? Grealish only given 20 minutes........The only player to get the ball into the Scottish penalty area was Pickford.......as an Englishman was praying for Scotland to score in the second half.......90 minutes of my life wasted.

From first game back after WW11 until last game:

30 England wins

11  Draws

12  Scottish victories.

Seems to me that before the comp' started, the Scots would rather have taken a win against England and not progress, than lose to England and qualify out of the group.

Scotland were the number one team in the world for a couple of decades. Still yearning for the 1890s and early 1900s. They have not moved on emotionally IMO.

Italy v Wales set to go and both teams have named weakened sides. Draw absolutely nailed on and will mean Italy top the group and Wales finish 2nd.

Turkey v Switzerland fighting it out for 3rd place then a long wait to see how results pan out in other groups.

Not like some mentioning 1966 at every opportunity. :whistling:????

That's all in yours, Ronnie's and Jim Whites imagination. You never hear English go on about 1966

Billy Gilmour will miss the Scotland v Croatia game having tested positive for Covid 19. No news about remainder of squad.

Obviously they will have to forfeit the result.

How can other players not be affected if they are all in the bubble? Surely there will be other players who will need to be isolated as well.
