BANGKOK (NNT) - The online system for foreigners to submit their 90-day reports and for landlords to report the presence of foreign tenants is up and running again after being out of action for several months.

Immigration Bureau deputy commander Pol Maj Gen Achayon Kraithong said online reporting is an essential channel to help reduce overcrowding at immigration offices during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said those who have to meet the legal requirement for reporting their whereabouts every 90 days now have an option besides showing up in person at provincial immigration offices or sending a form via postal mail. The online system can also reduce travel time and expenses.

The Immigration Act also requires landlords to report the presence of any foreign tenants to authorities using the TM30 form within 24 hours of their arrival. They can visit the website or download the “Section 38” app for Android or iOS devices.

I still don't understand how it works. I've been trying to do it online for a year, but I always get the same error.

What do you enter in the field TM6 and Arrival Date? My last TM6 is dated March 2020 and maybe that's the problem.

I'm tired of pay 500 baht for a taxi to get a stamp on a paper in two minutes.

How about online submission of all the "paperwork" for annual extensions?

Just turn up for the stamp, once approved.

After months of repair I'm betting (illegally) it'll be the same old kee mah!

So glad the 90 day report is up and running online, and why is it not in English, they haven't go a clue,

Why did they turn this system off before?

They seem to like introducing new hoops for people to jump through, it's almost like it was a deliberate act that they've now been forced to reverse......for a while.....

Exactly, renewing passports while in country invalidates our entries in the 90 days reporting database because the passport used during our last entry doesn't match with the current one. The stupid part in this story is that doing the 90 days report in person or via post does not update the database... For the love of god.. ????

Gee, even good news generates whole lot of complaints on this forum.

I get my maid to do mine, usually takes her about 5 minutes. She didn't attend high school, so it can't be very difficult.

Good system.

It is in English. There's some Thai as well but all the parts you need are in English.

On Thursday 22 April around 10.30 am I went to the Immigration office at Kamphaeng Phet to do my 90 day report.

I was in and out in 5 minutes and I was the only customer.

What a bunch of morons. Basically hasn't worked since day 1. Every time I've tried it's down or won't progress to nxt pg etc.

I tried to use it several times this morning and it took me in circles ending up where I started. Never could figure out how to access the tm47 form.

Easier to do away with it completely unless you change addresses

Another reason to use an agent.

Not only are you wasting your (and possibly your family's) time, and energy, but also risking getting Covid. And all just to save a few thousand baht of agent fees?

Madness.

How many years have they been trying to get this working? Any decent programmer could write and test this simple form in a couple of days. It's absolutely pathetic.

It's possible they made it so bad and unreliable just to inconvenience us and make us jump through hoops but having worked with many IT "professionals" here I suspect they just cant figure it out.

Or maybe the budget ended up at the local Benz dealership?

it's obvious, think of how much tea money they are losing by this service.  The deliberately made it not work and will again, mark my words.

They paid good money for their positions, they have to get that back by terrorizing old naive foreigners.

Why do you think that foreigners living here are old?

Why not just scrap the silly 90 day reporting.  It is has been in the Immigration Act for 40 years but wasn't enforced for the first 30 years without any issued.  So why bother now.

I am sure that, if I were a landlord in Thailand I would not let property to foreigners.  The 90 day reporting for landlords looks far too much of a pain.

VERY NICE INTENTION, but two days after the system online again, THE FACT that I still could not able to pass through the first page.

I mean they are the ones that usually worry the most about being refused a visa and have more money than young guys. .

That doesn't make any sense. Why would they worry about being refused a visa if they are old (over 50) and have money?

I finally got it to work in December.  Then it went off line.  Stood in line in Jomtien for 45 minutes in March to do the 90 day report.

My friend has been doing it online for years.  Just tried...no luck.  Told him to go in person.

They need to get rid of this stupid system.  It's out of date and in reality, accomplishes nothing.  Other than being a money maker for immigration.
