Good news to see the trend going down, and the fatality rate still low.  Makes you wonder why they still felt the need to close open-air public parks and swimming pools!

they should also close TF and ban ed drugs and ..........erm.......close legs

Dr. Opart also said today (Monday) that the more than 2,000 infections per day for the past several days is a matter of serious concern and the Ministry of Public Health finds it necessary to tighten preventive measures in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Prachuap Khiri Khan.

So after the freedom given over Songkran they are now concerned....

This is a factor in the UK but has never been so in Thailand. I know the Doomsday merchants screaming for a lockdown are going to be feeling a bit humiliated but cases are clearly declining now. Even the restrictions recently announced in Bangkok that come into force today are unnecessary as cases are already declining.

Well, that backfired somewhat.

"feeling a bit humiliated but cases are clearly declining now".

You might have jumped the gun a bit there, Champ.

Who's humiliated now?

The humiliated people are those screaming that an immediate lockdown was needed to avoid exponential growth. Today's tiny blip up doesn't change the fact we're still well below the peak and in a downward trend. As has been pointed out, Sunday's cases reported on Monday are usually the lowest of the week. Focus on the trend, not the noise.

The fact you felt the need to dig up this post shows you are indeed feeling humiliated and desperate for some kind of validation.

Not it in the slight bit humiliated.

Just keeping it real, and calling out the people that every time the number decline for a day or 2, claim "the numbers are clearly declining now", when the trends and facts do not support that claim.

Relax Kid, I know you are humiliated right now but sooner or later the numbers will drop again. One time you are going to be right...but not this time.

Don't be pathetic. When did I ever say cases are going to decline every single day? Of course that's never going to happen. Learn what a trend is then come back and maybe we can have a serious discussion.

Also, virus infection doesn't equate to "COVID-19 cases." COVID-19 is the specific disease/syndrome that occurs when the body cannot fight off the virus effectively and it goes on to affect multiple organs in the body, which can cause death. Some very inaccurate headlines and reporting going on.

That's not correct, I'm afraid. If you're exposed to the SARS-COV-2 virus and you become infected with it, you then have Covid-19.

It can be an asymptomatic CoVid-19 infection which is so mild you'd never even know you had it if you weren't tested and where it never affects any of your organs, but you have CoVid-19 nevertheless.

Here's what the WHO says about the matter:

"An asymptomatic laboratory-confirmed case is a person infected with COVID-19 who does not develop symptoms."

I've read it described both ways by the media...but if the WHO uses that nomenclature I will agree.

Cases are clearly declining, no? I think it's safe to come out of your basement now, grandpa.
