I won't believe this heinous crime until I see the cardboard "crime" background and multiple finger pointing.

  • They forgot to mention if the soda water was Thai or foreign!

Cannot just fine them, foreigners involved, got to make a MASSIVE show, just to let foreigners know such things will not be tolerated.

three Thai ladyboys were arrested, along with five Thai women and three foreign men.

and number twelve is the one wearing a face mask ?

Saw they group many evenings, sometimes smaller, sometimers bigger. They just had some fun and were enjoying themselves. The Tuk Tuk was the juke box with terrible choice of music. They have just been too evident for the now always patrolling blood suckers in brown. Hope they all get away with a reasonable fine.

Wait!   Meanwhile back in Rawai yesterday (Sunday/16th), another major bust takes place.....   Probably take a few days for the Phuket News to catch up.

Same day a large group of several Thai families had a real pick nick party with all you can immagine incl. booze on Rawai beach. Nobody cared, which is good. However, 2 different treatments again.

I was in Phuket once, I enjoyed it, but I will never go back again, at least until those in office have been replaced with more democratic leaders

These things are no longer tolerable the common sense is dead

It depends on where you stay in Phuket, I imagine everybody gets tired of Patong like i did, in the south around Rawai and Nai Harn is great we are surrounded by the ocean,

Just in Patong, and as I repeat I had a great time. They want tourists, but someone from abroad who reads  news like this, would like to go to Phuket? I really don't think so, indeed he will stay away

Unnecessary message.

and they want tourists back this send a great message to people wanting to come here if this goes viral people won't be lining up to come get arrested for drinking and put in a covid filled prison they really have no idea how big social media is

I was only joking.

They talked about where all the beer came from, so why not mention the soda water?

Probably no reason to differentiate between foreign and local alcohol either. Same as the nationality of the people, what difference does it make?

They probably did it in the belief that foreigners drank foreign beer and Thais drank Thai beer and whisky.

I agree though, absolutely no need to differentiate between the alcohol.

Some people can make the distinction between measures now and entry after JUly 1st.

And what be will the measures after July 1st? And in any case those who aim to go to Phuket for that date must book now, he certainly won't wait until July 1st to find out how things are

Well they can't claim they did not know. You don't find me out trying to find a place to drink, but I sure would love to go to the beach and have some fun for a bit.

Since entry requirements are not known yet they can't book now. Will probably be in a few weeks time, so embassies/consulates can make sure visa applications are processed according to the rules. Your post just reinforces the post reacted to: "Some people can make the distinction between measures now and entry after JUly 1st."

Re-enactment, finger pointing and then it is off to the slammer, throw away the keys as the dirty farang may stay locked up for 141'731 years (that was indeed the longest jail sentence handed down by a local court - on a Thai citizen though).

Local police, money.  Wider, for publicity to make a point.

Hmmm.... why are there no police pointing their fingers at the “criminals”. ? Without finger pointing how do we know who the offenders are? Hanging is too good a punishment for this heinous offence
