It would appear that Phuket has become the focal point in Thailand for COVID-19 vaccinations for purely economic reasons that may or may not be viable in 'restarting' tourism in one province in Thailand. As for the vulnerable groups of people outside of Phuket (and in Phuket itself)  - we will have to wait and see.  And for foreigners in Thailand, it will certainly be more 'wait' than 'see'.

There is a silver lining: if they are successful with their campaign Phuket will be a safe place to be, as long as you don't "party" too much. For getting  vaccinated my earliest hopes are for Q4/2021, even though I got an appointment on May 31st, but unfortunately T.I.T.

Blah, blah, blah.... let's see what actually occurs.

They want you all to go home and stop being a burden on Thailand

I would say Phuket is quite a safe place to CONTINUE waiting for your jab if your not a business owner or working. Bangkok and Thong Lor night clubbers will need 2 jabs or a PCR negative test now before jumping on a NOK air flight......

Everyone has to be vaccinated best to start with the most vulnerable and medics then if a surge in infections  occurs should reduce the risk of fatalities. Relealisically everyone needs to be vaccinated before opening for Tourism domestic or foreign

Yep, with minimal available vaccines this is the way it's going to be.

Forget Phuket... what's more important for the economy... a few thousand tourists or a few million Thais back at work?

“The registration for foreigners is now open for all kinds of businesses. You can register to get vaccinated right now,” he said.

All kinds of businesses, but not all kinds of foreigners. Hmm

Only country in the World to vaccinate people on a holiday Island rather than the old and vulnerable. Only about money.

Registering doesn’t mean you are going to get it anytime soon !

Wake up people.

If you're healthy, you DON'T want a vaccine!

Bordering on criminal to vaccinate young tourist workers--whatever nationality--before people medical research has deemed more at risk of dying from the disease.

Not really much of an understanding of epidemiology there, hey fella? If you’re older and healthy you very much do want (and need) a vaccine or are you wearing blinkers ?

Dear Rocket Scientist Gov folks,

So comforting to know BUSINESS people ($$$) in Phuket will be registered & vax'd!

What the heck does that mean for the WHITE DEVILS in the rest of Thailand!!!???

Your jabbing thousands of Thais every day in BKK, = GREAT, but are our arms/shoulders just too much of a RACIAL hurdle for you to contemplate? This is pure, plain, simple, TRANSPARENT racism! For the whole world to see!

Your Tourisim Minister might want to consider the adverse affect this will have on the Thai economy in the future!

Yet I still LOVE Thai people, Gov not so much!

Crazy statement.  Read the science and the statistics showing how many "healthy"  people have caught the virus. Maybe they did not die or get seriously ill, BUT they were carriers and could infect others, they may be your elderly family members or friends. Selfishness in the extreme.

What a <deleted> ! you are not aware that a lot of young healthy people are sick and many are already dead in the world . If you don't know the subject , please , check the facts before spreading such absurdity and learn about what the word contagion means.

They are being sacrificed for the millions of Chinese set to flood the island in a few weeks, spending billions of baht.

Im not sure about that I see no indication of a load of Chinese coming to Phuket, according to Booking.com their stats say going by the country the most people looking or searching is from Russia and there does seem a lot of Russians about

Just Phuket? Why not nationwide?

is this all going to be province by province, location by location?

Yesterday the deputy or por dor, wife's nephew, was whizzing around the village with a pre filled list of residents to get their signature for vaccination. As the current lone expat, he asked me if I wanted to sign up. Happy to, I added my name and signature. added

Day 1 since then.... We'll see what will happen, especially as the elections are just a couple of months away...

They already have the information on 99% of the people in Thailand. Both Thai thru ID and farang

thru Immigration and 90 day reports. Why do you need to register ????? They already have it
