Thailand should restart direct flights to the US. Americans can’t wait to travel. No restrictions like the UK or Australia. It is a huge market. I don’t understand why Thailand don’t target us more.

I know that we all get bored hearing this but it seems these TAT people never get bored of spewing this stuff out. I cannot understand why they don't turn their energies to helping the people who need it, those that ave lost just about everything over the Covid situation. No they'd rather give the people false hopes with ridiculous schemes.

They think this is the way to help, get the thousands of un-employed bar-girls back in front of businesses selling themselves.. it's all they know.

Just yesterday I saw a report of the future of tourism on a european TV channel .

 

They asked a lot of people about their travel plans , now that the Covid stuation seems to be stabilizing a bit ...

 

just 2% of the people asked , said that they will go for a holiday out of Europe , even with relaxed restrictions ...

 

If Thailand wants to go come back to similar tourist levels as it once was , they need much more than just a ' Slogan ' .

 

Better they focus a little more on the ' long time stayers ' who spend the money they earned abroad ...

 

Relax the sometimes ridiculous immigration rules for the long time stayers who have no criminal record at least .

 

I do not see the number of tourists come back to the 40 mio it once was , anytime soon ...

 

 

 

 

Phuket is about as enticing as Skegness or Blackpool, they have a difficult job getting the place back up and running again. So, needs a bit more than a worn out slogan and over weight tattooed sex workers available once more.

Single middle aged men especially have a high disposable income and so do younger 2 week millionaire's. This is where the money is at and they come in the millions. 

Take away sex tourism and they have no reason to be in Thailand. A perfect example was the Pattaya family resort, the next Miami slogan. Just nonsense.

Thai Airways was banned from flying into the US because of its poor safety audit record.   Given the state of the company now, difficult to foresee any change in the future.   Are there any US airlines that previously flew into Thailand?

Delta did on a code share flight with Korean Air at one time, and still may when things progress, but you need to fly through S. Korea.

Whilst your wife is having a glass of champagne in the 5* shopping centre, and driven around the island in a luxurious 7series, kids are playing happily at the beach and husband is going to daycare centre.

I've just had a bit of a drive around Phuket, up the by-pass road then over to Patong then down the west coast through Karon and Kata and back to Rawai, The place looks depressed and derelict.

What are they going to do to get business's back up and running the way Im looking at it the government cant make it's mind up ok they say July 1st but that could change one thing we dont know is how many tourist will come.

Then what are the tourist coming to? a load of empty shops hardly anything open.
