A recommendation has been issued, by Trat’s Provincial Office of Primary Education, asking all primary and secondary students to wear uniforms while attending online classes.

The advice was by Mrs. Chorraba Chuenban, the director of the Provincial Office of Primary Education, after the communicable disease committee approved the idea at its meeting on May 28th, that the wearing of the uniforms is advisable for the sake of order and discipline, even when studying online between June 1st and 13th.

Many parents have, however, voiced disagreement with the idea, while some agree.

Not at all.  Online teaching at home requires will power and application, for both child and parents .  Its not game time, its serious teaching time. It's an excellent idea, to set the scene  and the mood for the child and make them wear uniform. It is akin to online teachers wearing proper dress to teach, not casual.  Again, it sets the mood.  Very smart.

is their Online link a sort of webcam environment? as in the teacher and students can see each other?

Good move. Kids need structure that will serve them well in life.

When they are 50 they can choose to be online in only underwear like the rest of us ????

I'd be OK with this if the online learning content wasn't so pitiful. Priorities....

Indeed so, and might I suggest a flagpole in their garden also ?

I bet a lot of kids will only wear the top half of the uniform. White school shirt to please the teacher, normal casual wear out out of sight.

Honestly, this is the least of the problems of e-learning.Shirt up,

It would be enough standing in honour at 8 o'clock sharp in front of the TV and singing the national anthem.

On the surface this may seem another silly idea from the powers that be, however if you think about it, it's not so daft.

Luckily i have managed to keep working at the office however many colleagues (and family members back in UK) have told me how they struggled to concentrate working at home. My brother actually decided that he would follow his normal working routine, wake up, shower, put on his work clothes, cup of coffee and then start work. He said this gave him more discipline and was more productive.

I have had a nightmare trying to get my daughter to learn on-line, maybe adding some proper structure and wearing her uniform may help.

It's 10 kinds of crazy, send your kid to public school and this is what you get. This the education the salespeople at Thaiwhatsadu who are hiding in the aisles playing on there phone get.

And will the teachers be willing to wear their pseudo scout uniforms in support ? Toggle  an all ?

Its 100 kinds of sensible, unless you have no real  interest or commitment to your child's attitudes, discipline, application and education.  Many families who home school their kids, insist on smart dress for the child and the Mum or Dad when they teach.  It sets the scene, that this is a serious learning time and not game play.

For <deleted> sake what the hell is this guys problem.  Wearing a uniform at home while doing on-line schooling is for the "Sake of order and Discipline"  is this guy just stupid or what kind of a power trip is he on....

That is your idea in the western education system the students don't wear uniforms and the results are better than here. Give kids freedom at home instead constantly be pushed to do things without reason

Your serious? Really Serious?  If so I am at a loss for words.  The tone for homeschooling is set when they, the children, sit down at the table, turn on the tablet, log in and its time for learning.  Wearing a freaking uniform or smart dress is just unnecessary.  Do you think all those people working from home are getting dressed in their business and work attire while working on-line and completing paperwork or making phone calls in the confines of their own homes.  If you do believe this then I have some ocean front property for you to buy in Nevada.

where do you get that idea from?  All the schools my kids attended in the UK and all and any that I have seen, all have a uniform.

You forgot at 8 am for them to stand up and salute the TV and again at night time.

In the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, they don't have uniforms.. in the Uk I know they are very traditional but the rest of Europe is free. Even in the USA I think  not all schools wear uniforms

It is incumbent upon all people to resist utter nonsense, with all the power of their beings. Extreme conformity is incredibly toxic for the minds of the youth, and very beneficial for a heinous military led regime, who wants the plebs to remain obedient.

Parents should support their kids in resisting this kind of harmful "teach them to be sheep"  behavior. Whatever it takes. Resist. Deny. Refuse. No, no, no. Not on my watch.
