Heaven Above, the old Baby locations, but what made it look bad to me was the old Carousel Beer Bars being stationary.

I can't remember exactly when Heaven Above closed probably during covid, it should have closed a lot sooner, i can't think of any other gogos on soi Diamond closing just before covid, maybe your timing is out. Those carousel bars were closed for a long time

I think sin city/crazy town is going to be made into a new smart city.

A new destination for families and suchlike.

At least that is the plan.

What was wrong with Heaven Above?  In its prime it was a great place - a "stairway to heaven"!!  When did Superbaby/Supergirl close?

Heaven Above just ran out of money around the time the draft beer got smaller, you know they are in trouble if they do that, quality of girls went down hill. It was my favourite place 2+ years ago. Superbaby\Supergirl were poor, think went in once that was enough

Superbaby/Supergirl had a niche market!

It's not a competition of who is right or wrong.  It's an interesting topic, and has nothing to do with the morality of an individual, being the monger, or the bar girl.

For a prostitute to take the time to do her hair and make up and wear a nice dress, isn't she trying to gain the attention of perspective customers?  At that point, isn't she selling her beauty, to then be able to sell her services?

Say a prostitute trained at the gym 2 hours a day to have a good body.  Isn't the exercise she does focused on here anatomy, to increase sales?

What about fashion models that walk up and down a runway, or promo girls? In these cases, isn't beauty the asset this being sold?

I see your point. You assume I am viewing bar girls as not being human, a piece of meat etc.  You are wrong.

Wrong but right . I assume nothing .

You are wrong.... it closed before Covid. We were talking of pre Covid times.

The point some posts back was about the nightlife of the Walking St area already being in decline and soi Diamond falling from it's once high perch.

which coincides with Covid, although they were heading for the rocks before any rent increase

The reason is there... he was lucky to be closed ahead of lockdowns. You don't expect the partners didn't discuss it earlier?

It was good at happy hour ... we often used it as  a 1st stop. And like many places it helped if you had a regular in there.

They started doing large draft so I switched as their draft got kineow smaller, anyway the large had a western style froth head on it, so still small, almost blew it over the service girl, i only went one or two times after that. Last thing i want is a regular, that girl Guitar was exceptional at getting money out of guys

I'm confident that most if not all the people on this thread saying Walking St is dead for good don't go there, probably stopped going when it got too expensive for them so a touch bitter

I never went there, I always found plenty of attractive and available women all over Thailand, and the rest of Asia. Did stay there a coulpe of nights with a gf on the way to Koh Samat.

My pals that were regulars in Pattaya all moved over to Cambodia, not sure why as they haven't said.

Guessing it was long term VISA problems staying in Thailand.

Presuming they are all over 50 a retirement extension can be had for 12-15,000 p.a. or of course the 800k in the bank or 60k/month. Were they perhaps younger and having issues with Non Imm-O multiples?

Surprised they preferred Cambodia....

It was doing well, we've established that already, i went probably every couple of weeks, you went how frequently just before covid?

Not as frequent as you.  You said you only went to the popular places, and they were busy, which I agreed with, but you admitted places were in a "cash burn."

If Walking Street was doing well, why were places burning cash when they should have been making cash?

This doesn't look good:

"the bars and clubs of Walking Street have been shuttered for months and parts look scheduled for demolition. The Pattaya local authority has already stated that the dozens of premises jutting into the sea will not be able to renew their entertainment licences as they are illegal structures. Moreover, the whole area should be turned into a 21st century business and leisure complex far removed from the sins of the flesh."

"A new 2.9 billion baht mega project for Bali Hai Pier to include waterfront expansion and a terminal for cruise ships has already been sent to the EEC, whilst the adjoining Walking Street is planned to turn into landscaped gardens, department stores, classy restaurants and family entertainment venues. Pattaya Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome has confirmed his aim to turn Walking Street into a world-class for shopping, eating and nightlife."

You forgot to mention the Casino - you know, the one you have been planning to set up for years - or has the required "special paperwork" yet to complete it's process across various rather luxurious desks?

Old friend don't you know it's over?
Old friend can't you understand?
Slap your back I can no longer
I can only shake your hand

It's been so long, and things are so different
Memory lane's a dead end street
Your presence tence is reminiscent
I can't rehash it, I won't repeat

Your not so sure about tomorrow
You try to beg and steal and borrow
Yesterday sweet parting sorrow
You hold it over my head like a rusty aks

The good old days are good and gone now
That's why they are good, because they are gone
But our conversation turns the cow tow
We kiss the pasts ass all night long

Old friend don't you know it's over?

A lot of failing businesses on Walking Street pre covid then, when in the past, Walking Street businesses were gold mines.

What's your experience of Walking St just prior to covid or are you guessing? the street was busy and not just Chinese, people going to lots of different places. It was going strong, for me it was the best it's been in 7 years

Couple of years before corona, but it was a shadow of it's once upon a time glory. Loads of Chinese tours following the leader with a flag, hardly any attractive girls. Perhaps all the farang wannabe cops were putting the girls off.

Not many DDG Russian women, but not many Russians at all.

The young girl doing contortions was still there, but much older and much less flexible. Didn't see the "cowboy". The guy in a self propelled wheelchair selling flowers had upgraded to a motorised wheelchair.

The interesting shop jam packed with rugs and stuff was gone.

The street seemed flashier and much, much less fun.

I was struck at how many pretty touts were outside the gogos and how so few attractive girls were inside dancing.

I have never talked about casinos.

Personally I hate them.

I was suggesting something the Mayor of Pattaya had left out of his vision for Walking Street, rather than something you were talking (or not) about.

They seemed to be happy to stay in Little Arabia, and I never saw them on the Walking Street. They sure liked their "music" loud. Made my ears bleed just walking past their bars.

That was my perception too, Indians maybe.
