Ah, somebody has been watching "30 Rock", taking Jack Donaghy's advice as real-world business acumen...

Will they copy the slogan: "We have a magic horse"?

Also, will the prime minister strive to  be a succesfull business leader such as Kathy Geiss?

Just to chime in, "Unicorn" in investing is slang to refer to a private company worth USD $1billion+. More full definition here.

What the PM is probably trying to say here is that he wants Thailand to be able to incubate and nurture startup champions. Which I think is a good goal, but is easier said than done.

And the term was first used by the founder of Cowboy Ventures.

Could have been worse, could have been Cowboy Dentures.

Thailand does currently have one unicorn out of the 800 or so out there:

Look at who is driving this: Thailand National Defense College; Joint War College, and the War Colleges of the three armed forces.

They obviously anticipate being in control for the next 20 years!

As they have for the last several decades.

Militarism is subconsciously associated with most everything.

How charming.

As always, nothing concrete, nothing immediate, nothing important, nothing detailed, nothing actually doing.   Just important-sounding words someone gave him to toss out, slowly drifting away in the wind, forgotten tomorrow, or, more likely, five minutes from now.

First thing they should do is put int he data protection laws if they want to succeed in IT. Security is bad as all the recent hacks show. How can a country be good at ICT when its security is far below par.

They never seem to point out their weaknesses but go on sprouting nonsense and almost miracle like best case scenarios.

A bit more reality would not hurt. But then again this what all Thai officials do, reality is not important making exceptional unrealistic projections is.
