Popular Post webfact
Picture: Sanook Admin for a fine dining restaurant in Thailand hit back at people who left poor but seemingly factual reviews. Grab shots of complaints on Twitter were commented upon on Instagram. Since a furor blew up both accounts have been deleted. One customer complained about the quantity of lobster served, poorly cooked pasta and sauce that didn't match the dish. They were told to go to a buffet or make it themselves if they were so concerned about quantity. The insults were shot back in reasonably correct English. Another who complained about the lack of truffle scrapings and portion size was told to eat the pictures in the menu. A complaint about dry meat was because the customer took 10 minutes to photo it. Another complained about the hard rice in the risotto - they were told to keep their money for the dentist in future. The tirade - widely criticised on social media, said Sanook - was rounded off by this statement from the restaurant: "Currently under attack from uneducated wannabe foodie". -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-09-30 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post Gsxrnz
Apparently Basil Fawlty is alive and well, and running a restaurant in Thailand. I just had a great idea - start a Thai TV series about a hotel managed by a sociopathic introverted extrovert with a tendency to cock things up horribly, but then I realised that as this is SOP in many LOS hotels, probably not a money maker. On a side-note, I'd love to see Fawlty Towers dubbed over in Thai, now that would be freaking hysterical. 9 1

Popular Post richard_smith237
Some of those replies are genius !!!... The customer isn’t always right. Whenever I check TripAdvisor reviews I have to ignore have the comments written by some halfwit complaining the sand is too sandy at Koh Samet, or the Burger was too tall etc, choc-chip cookies too chocolatey etc ! If the the vast majority of reviews received by the restaurant are positive then this could be a case of ’no publicity is bad publicity’.... But... TripAdvisor reviews always need to be read with a critical eye, many are fake. This video shows how a Guy make ‘his garden shed’ (a fake restaurant) a #1 restaurant !!... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqPARIKHbN8 Edited September 30, 2021 by richard_smith237
Popular Post trainman34014
Vote with your feet....right past this Arrogant <deleted> place ! We know Thai's can't take criticism but if it's a Farang then he has been here too long, accepts low Thai standards and has caught the Allergy 'Not My Fault'. 2

Checked the reviews on Google maps. Mostly 5 star older comments. Now downvoted to a two star restaurant in the last day.

Popular Post spidermike007
Nothing like an unrepentant chef or owner, to scare away future clientele. I own a business, and I know what good customer service looks like. Heaping scorn upon unsatisfied customers is never a smart thing to do. Improving your performance and quality, is what real men do. I recently ate at a French restaurant on the north end of Koh Phangan. Had a similar experience. The wine was terrible. And when we tried to return a bad bottle, the owner argued that it needed a little more time to breathe, and that the wine tasted fine to him. When I posted negative reviews on FB and Trip Advisor, he replied with equally snarky remarks about uneducated Americans not knowing anything about wine. What can one say? A flaming idiot is just that. Wish we could call out these restaurants by name. Cowardly libel laws created by men who are bought and paid for seems to prevent such an action. Popular Post Bassosa
I recently reviewed a clinic who had botched a small medical procedure and had refused to take responsibility afterwards. Their response: - It was my fault that the procedure failed (I went to proper hospital later and they fixed it for me) - I shouldn't be complaining because they had organized transport for me (Blatant lie - I drove myself) - Personal medical information was divulged in their response to my review - "A foreigner should be careful defaming a Thai business" Sometimes generalizations are true. Thais CANNOT handle criticism.

djayz
I've never been to this restaurant nor do I know the dissatisfied customer, but there are a lot of sites springing up on the net almost daily offering this, that and the other. Some are good, but I think a lot of people using these sites, especially the younger ones, feel like they are entitled to comment on every little aspect of their lives, evey experience, every cup of coffee, every disappointment in their boring day. I believe only a very small fraction of what I read on those sites as I don't know the posters from Jack The Ripper. We should all be slower to complain, appreciate the fact that we have something to eat and get on with our lives. All this nonsense of spoilt brats making a fuss about nothing. If the restaurant really is lousy, then it won't be in business for long - online comments or not. Poorly run businesses failed even in the pre-internet era. Grow up, enjoy your day out and get a life!
