Mexico, Thailand and more could be removed from red travel list

From another article today

"The removal from the red list of Mexico, South Africa and Thailand would send "a confidence boost across the sector and across consumers.

Mr Charles said it is "very hard to justify" why any countries are on the list "when there are no new variants of concern there".

Delta is no longer a variant of concern?

They meet tomorrow, so how can the BBC have the list?

These types of meetings usually rubber stamp previously prepared submissions. They don’t decide everything there and then.

Strange politics IMO. Malaysia is now off the UK' travel warning list despite still not faring too well.

Malaysia has , among other vaccines, also used Sinovac and is planning to use it for school children now.

The Delta variant is also there.

I did some digging when it went red into two subjects 1) AZ acceptance and 2) red list. What I stumbled on was the red list has a scientific committee doing assessments and they concluded that Thailand was not undertaking/sharing enough reliable covid data for a positive assessment to be made.
