I for one applaud this.... and the reason is simple.. given TAT's past in getting everything 180 degrees wrong then if they are forecasting the dark old  days are over and TH will become a paradise for Mum , Dad and the 2 rug rats then one can expect debauchery in the streets.. TH will become like those Biblical cities  Sodom and Gomorrah ( unfortunate resemblance to other words which do sort of fit in here)..... keep on with the forecasts TAT for they portend well for a return to the good ole days with vengeance.

For those familiar, Ft Lauderdale, Florida, USA did this back in the early 90s.  All the night clubs moved to Miami Beach and the rest is history

Thailand was built on mass tourism. I’m sure all of these high class tourists will want to step in dog <deleted> on the sidewalks, fall into a hole that was covered by a thin piece of wood, smell the aroma of a local klong or enjoy the trash on any vacant lot or street. High end tourists don’t want to deal with the realities of Thailand. They can still fly in, have a car take them to their private resort and enjoy life that way. They can do this in other countries and Thailand is old hat to most anyways.

Nice point, the authorities will be hoping that tourists arrive after 1 Nov in large numbers. 

 

Some will be families, some groups of friends and many will be singles, all of whom need to stay in a hotel for 1 night before moving on with their holiday plans/travel/accommodation. 

 

Will they we required to stay in one of the authorized ASQ etc., hotels or just any hotel?

 

Will they all have some type of electronic tracker/locator fitted? Does the government have the tools/equipment/manpower to fit the tracker/locator and monitor it for 24 hours and who will recover the tracker/locator after 24 hrs?

 

So new arrivals have to do a full swab PCR test on arrival then go to a quarantine hotel. So imagine a traveler/family etc., arrive at swampy at 8:00 am and by 9:00 am their swab(s) have been taken and off they go to a quarantine hotel.

 

Then at say 6:00 pm same day they get an e.mail 'negative'. Can they now leave the quarantine hotel, or do that have to always stay overnight, even though they've already got a negative report? 

 

I stayed in Phuket sandbox, and we were allowed out as soon as negative result came back, so same day

If I remember correctly, the Azores did the same last year, test on arrival and quarantine until result, but at their expenses, not tourists?

 

Anyways, I expect thais live up to their reputation and we shall see ASQ 1 night starting from 10000 THB...That would be nice.

 

And...I would like to ask TAT to stop dreaming about so called high quality tourism.Never gonna happend, because Thailand is a 3rd world country, endemic corruption, double pricing.

They don't have the stamina for being a high quality destination.

I arrived in bkk in march my 72 hr pcr was rejected so I had to take 1 in the airport There where about 3 others and had to wait 3 + 1 hrs through immigration for result. Now do that for x  planes loads it would need a hugh operation and holding area and after a long haul flight a nightmare and i would never travel on that rule if 1 person tested + everybody would have to quarrantine

 

charged 3k baht test + taxi connection missed to AQL 1k

 

next high season 2022 but that guy needs to be sacked
