Popular Post webfact Posted October 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2021 Picture: INN A press conference at the Crime Suppression Division presided over by Pol Lt-Gen Jiraphop Phuridech announced the arrest of a 55 woman who was named only as "A". Jiraphop said she had been part of a bigger gang who invited Thai women to go and work in Bahrain in the massage and spa industry. But on arrival they were forced into providing sex for money. The suspect denies the charges. Jiraphop said that there are dozens of victims in cases over the last year or two that are being investigated under human trafficking legislation. Bahrain is one of two countries involved. INN didn't name the other. The suspect in this case was picked up in the Na Kleua sub-district of Samut Prakan, south east of the Thai capital Bangkok. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-10-15 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates Get your business in front of millions of customers who read ASEAN NOW with an interest in Thailand every month - email [email protected] for more information 1 4
Popular Post ezzra Posted October 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2021 This kind of exploitation been going on for many years and still there's no shortage of gullible women who get trapped in this ugly business... 10 1
Popular Post spidermike007 Posted October 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2021 Not that I am not sympathetic to the exploitation of women, which I am, but something smells fishy here. I have known alot of women who have gone to work massage in Dubai, Singapore, and elsewhere, and they all seem to know the only way to make real money is to offer sex services, of some kind or other. So, this sounds like more fake puritan nonsense, from the guys who consider themselves to be a pure as Patagonian snow. Such delusion. Such hubris. Such nonsense. 15 4

Was that inside the airport terminal or near the luggage claim they were forced into providing sex? Any ladies under 40 must know through the grapevine what goes on in Bahrain, or they could google it. Yes this is totally inhumane if the ladies were lied to either way IMO 2 1

[again, naive] There were others there too who had been misled and were afraid. I negotiated a buyout and sent money to get her passport back and a flight arranged back to Bkk... others were not as lucky. 7

Funny. Yes, there are Thai massage places around the world. And if they needed a masseuse, they could hire someone already in that country. Especially if the pay and work conditions were decent. If they have to import a young Thai female, it's only for one reason....and it's not for giving a massage. 1 1
Andrew65 Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 I paid the airfare for my Thai ex girlfriend's (she was a hotel receptionist) mother to come back from Hungary many years ago. She had gone there to work as a Thai cook, but was so mistreated that she had to come back. 2

Popular Post The Hammer2021 Posted October 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2021 The working girls know exactly what they are doing and what work they will be doing. When NGOs and Police close them down they are taught to tell the 'I didn't know/I was tricked' story to escape conviction. Most Thai girls in Bahrain are happy and well paid. I know girls here who go to Korea, Malaysia, Bahrain, Dubai...they are all instructed to give out the same story about being trafficked to avoid prosecution. 4 2

Furthermore, 1) there is a distinct difference between free-lancing and being forced to provide services at work. 2) other than that, a salary of about USD 1.000 incl. board and lodgings, is rather attractive for someone making about 10-12K THB a month, who needs to pay rent and food, and who has kids that need to go to school. 1

I. would think most ladies could get more than 400 baht per throw walking around Bkk/Patt/Phuket... on the other hand, I have a friend who is working massage in Czech and I think she is doing ok - she is a tomboy and going with men is just not going to happen... 1

Popular Post Ohyesuare Posted October 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2021 I knew a TG who went to Bahrain to work, despite me warning her what would most likely happen, the mamasan ended up keeping almost all the money she made after a year or more, she came back to Thailand with nothing. Luckily for her, only after a short time of working at a bar on her return, she met a guy from the UK who married her and took her back to the UK and according to her social media, is happy now with two kids with him. 1 1 1

steven100 Posted October 15, 2021 Posted October 15, 2021 The problem is they hold their passports and give them a job for 300,000 baht or whatever, and they take 5000 from their salary every month to pay back the 300,000 baht which can take several years. They won't give them their passport back until the money is paid, so many girls then offer the sex as it pays more and they try to pay off their boss/keeper sooner. They get caught up in a vicious circle of human sex trafficking. Not saying the amount are correct, but you get my drift ...... 1

True. I talked two women out of this about 21 years ago; even went with one to the Australian embassy, as this was were she was being lured. Heard from others how they were lured to Korea and Malaysia with promises of getting rich quickly, and how they came back without a penny, but rich in 'experience'...
