Thailand on Monday (October 18) reported 10,111 new COVID-19 cases, 10,612 recoveries and 63 additional deaths over the past 24 hours.

◼︎ 10,612 recoveries

◼︎ 10,070 new infections

◼︎ 41 prison / prison infections

▶︎ Total infections since April 1: 1,764,949

▶︎ Total recoveries since since April 1: 1,640,824

Monday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 1,793,812 with 18,336 deaths.

The news comes as a recent opinion poll shows 60.1% of Thai people surveyed do not agree with the November 1st reopening of Thailand to vaccinated foreign travels without quarantine, saying that the country is not yet ready because less than 70% of the population have been vaccinated.

The survey also shows, however, that 39.9% of those surveyed agree that the November 1st target is timely.

Nice to see that the cases on ventilators are improving as the deaths start to definitely trend downward, however cases are still entering the hospitals and facilities on an almost even basis with discharges.  In order for Thailand to open up the country they need to ensure that their is a certain percentage of beds available in case thigs go pear shaped. Of course this is my view, and at a flatline and the continued daily cases occurring and needing treatment I wonder what the available space is as of now.

I have a question as far as the ATK kits go, How do you get the test registered so it shows up on the Mor Prom app under the digital pass heading or for that matter registered on the app at all in case you want to fly domestically and do not want to pay the cost to take a PCR test.  Talking to a friend this morning they said they took the test to a local hospital and had them perform it for him, of course at a cost which he would not tell me how much it was, and then they input that into the system.  However, since they are for home use, how in gods green earth do you get  it registered without mailing it in to the MOPH with your info as some directions I have seen that have been given to the Thai's.

Just looking at the top 10 Provinces vaccination rates, this was updated yesterday. Bangkok nearly at 70%, thats with a population estimate of 7.7 million.

So over 8 million of Bangkok’s estimated population of 7.7 million have received their first dose?

The introduction of the ATK testing is starting to achieve its reason for being.

Hospital admissions are just about on a par with the discharged Patients now.

However, with the ATK testing not being regulated, or monitored in any way, the total numbers that are Infected will out weigh the number of positive cases published by a significant number.

If these people that are sent home with a few Green Chiretta capsules and a box of Paracap are not strict with their isolation regime, then there are even more Positives within the Communities.

I am sure that the actual number of positives is well above 20 K, if all the cases that are walking around untested still are taken into consideration.

This is the main reason the figures are flatlined IMO.

It may not be the actual people that are " self Isolating " that are the problem, but family and Friends looking in on them to check they are Ok Etc and walking the Virus out with them.

Have you any evidence or experience with self/ home isolation folk and their visitors, friends etc? Think visitors would stay well shy of them.

Its a pity the CCSA only approved the ordering of 50,000. Only a game changer if you have some.

Of the 10,046 cases in the general Thai population, the highest numbers were 1,046 in Bangkok followed by 756 in Yala, 615 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, 579 in Songkhla, 502 in Pattani, 466 in Narathiwat, 402 in Rayong and 354 in Chonburi.
