1 Night AQ Pricing for "Quarantine Free Entry"

Personally I'd be getting in touch with other hotels.

Agree, it seems that they follow their usual rules and not what is necessary for an entry package.

By the way, I arrived in Phuket Tuesday, test taken around 2 PM at the airport, and I got the test result after 6 hours, after which I left the hotel.

When they start quoting "normal" checkin and checkout out times in a far from normal situation they can <deleted> off.

Not that bad timing for you, seen someone mention getting results in 3 hours but I'd be happy with 6.

Yes, it could be 1-2 nights (or less if the result comes early).

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I believe a two-night package is required if you arrive early *or* your PCR test result will not be back by normal check-out time.  Quoth the fine folks at Marriott today:

Quote

Standard check-in time is from 15:00 hrs. and check-out time is until 12:00 hrs. 2-night stay is required in case of early check-in or/and late check-out.

If an AQ hotel wants to charge an extra night for anyone checking in before standard check-in time (15:00 hrs) then go to a different hotel.

The SHA+ and AQ hotels are well aware of the variable arrival times of quarantining guests and accommodate accordingly without additional charge (3x quarantine so far !)...

We are also arriving at 8am (next week) - not even a sniff of being charged extra for an early check-in time.

Some SHA+ hotels in Bangkok allow 6 PM check out for test and go guests.

For ‘Test & Go’ guests, check out is permitted at any time as soon as the Negative PCR test is received.

Theoretically, someone arriving at midnight who is tested at 1am (when a hotel is in partnership with a hospital which offers 24 hrs PCR testing) - the hotel may escort the guest from the Airport, via the hospital for the PCR test (I’ve read of one case where this was going to happen) - the guest may then be free to go in the morning after a few hours (as soon as the negative test result is issued).

It all depends on the time of arrival and the time of PCR test.

I’m arriving at 8am, so will probably get the PCR result in the afternoon - there’s not great rush to get home, we’ll just enjoy the hotel for the night.

We are working on a better way to determine hotels testing practices.

Many hotels will allow testing up to 11PM without causing additional delays.

But if you are arriving after 11PM then you are most likely looking at having to book another "night" due to how hotels work (some may be more accommodating than others around this topic).

I just made a booking for Pattaya 1 night thinking I need a hotel booking before my flight. Turns out they need a flight booking (and insurance) to confirm hotel which makes sense.

So I guess the order is:

1. Book flight

2. Book insurance

3. Book hotel

4. Apply Thai Pass

We have been working hard to get hundreds of TP approvals.

I was just trying to purchase your Thailand Pass Service but there's no option for "1 Night Test and Go" for Phuket?

I'm flying on the 17th (from Korea) ....submitted TP application successfully on 1 Nov but haven't gotten approval QR, so would rather pay for professional service to expedite this than trust the system.

(Just saw you replied to me on LINE. Thank you.)

We have just added this.

Sorry for the delay, the initial reason we left it out was we needed clarity on the Test & Go rules for Phuket.

Phuket is the only Test & Go option which does not require payment of testing, and transport to be included in the hotel reservation.

We have added additional SHA+ hotels for Test & Go in the Bangkok, and Pattaya areas.

There also have been a few updates around the two most popular covid insurance insurers.

1) AXA has changed its plan, and pricing to offer $50,000 coverage only.

2) TuneProtect has created a "Lite" $50,000 USD coverage plan in addition to its standard $100,000 USD plan.

3) TuneProtect has changed its coverage plans to cover all durations after 30 days. This means if you are staying longer than 30 days you can now choose the exact duration for your insurance (ex: 37 days).

You can see an example of all these changes on our Thailand COVID-19 Insurance Comparison page.

@ThaiVisaCentre

I looked at AXA when it was $100k and price seems very similar to the $50k. Do they still offer the $100k?

Just for info, your duration bar seems super sensitive to me. While the age is very easy to set, I take ages trying to set the period to exactly 30, 60 or 90 days where the AXA price increments are.

If I land at Suvarnabhumi airport at 10:30pm (Tuesday). Go through immigration.

Arrive at my SHA+ hotel (Test & Go) in Pattaya at 2:00am (Wednesday)

I will be charged a room for 2 days?

AXA no longer offers a $100,000 USD coverage plan, and they have replaced their old one with the $50,000 USD plan.

Thank you for the UX advice, we will look into it. The issue is we now have 3 plans that support "per day" rates.

You will need to talk with your hotel.

Some are relaxed about this, and others provide drive through testing.

There is a chance that they might require an extra night, but confirm with them to be sure.

Maybe ask yourself if you arrived at a hotel at 2am pre-covid, would they charge you for that night?

Note: I don't think 2nd night would be much, my hotel is 4700 with taxi, PCR Test, ATK kit and 2 meals, so must be a lot cheaper without all that?

This is why I'm glad my flight arrives 9am, be in Pattaya by 11:30 so plenty of time for test and result before check out next day

I just posted on another thread that my hotel seems to offering late check out until 6pm because of this testing. After 6pm, they clearly charge for another day.

In that case 2nd night would most likely be 1,400 to 2,200 THB. But as mentioned many hotels are offering "late checkout".

We are still trying to determine how we want to showcase these policies / offerings on AQ.in.th.

Some AQ's are even offering 3 hour testing turnaround for an extra charge (we assume this depends on the hotels hospital partner).

@ThaiVisaCentre

I tried to pay for my Pattaya hotel and they only gave me 2 options.

1. Transfer money to their account

2. Use PayPal

I won't be signing up for PayPal and my bank has a minimum overseas transfer of $1000 (24,000 baht) so that won't work for 4700 payment.

I have a Thai Visa Card (debit card) but they said they can't take it?

Any ideas. Maybe just this hotel or is this the expected payment method of all?

Any thoughts appreciated

Just that hotel, others have the cheek to ask for a copy of both sided of your credit card!

Just another issue with all these new rules. In 13 years coming to Thailand I've never used a credit card due to the bad reputation of credit card fraud. Now we have to give them an actual photocopy of our card...mind is blown lol

I guess I'll cancel booking and start again ????

A credit card is pretty much mandatory for travel.

Nah, if a hotel pulls that BS you push them to give their bank details or tell them to stuff it.

In your case, you could always open a Wise account if you have time and use that to transfer. Or try PayPal with your debit card, don't need a PayPal account.

Thanks but like PayPal I won't be opening a Wise account, whatever that is.

I'm at my wits end with all of this extra Thailand nonsense for entry. If they don't want my money, so be it.
