Is Putin Truly Ready to Push the Nuclear Button? Washington calls Moscow's bluff
Again, if the US military had been ordered to force regime change in Syria, it would have happened. Let's talk about Putin's two-week war that is over 1000 days now. -

CCTV Captures Fatal Collision as Truck Runs Red Light, Hits Motorcycle
I often while waiting for the right turn green arrow on the major road in Hua Hin play this game with my wife. Guessing how many red light runners we will have this time while waiting to turn right. Always multiple red light runners, always flash my lights at the oncoming vehicles (that are required to stop at the red light) before I make my right-hand turn. Thais just love running red lights, absolute brain-dead morons. -

Trump's Storm Looms Over the ICC
It seems the US has chosen it's side , and it is not the good one ... I see big change coming , Xi Jinping , Modi , Da Silva , all want a new world order , and Trump will help them by isolating the US . By the way , did you see China's new stealth fighter jet ? ( https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a62906352/china-new-stealth-fighter-j-35a/ ) They are progressing very fast , they have their space station , have been on the dark side of the moon without incident ... Maga ? May be for the people who live in the states , for the rest of the world , US dominance wanes continuously . -

I will be quitting AseanNow
Most of us here aren't that interested in the crime committed by Thai's. We get quite a lot of Thai crime reported here and most crime by foreigners, I'm happy with the reporting, it's an English speaking forum. -

This is what Brits fought for
These cases are a bit different though. The defendants in these cases were remanded in custody (for tweets) and had their freedom effectively taken away for an unspecified amount of time. What happened then is that they were encouraged to plead guilty to reduce their sentences to get back their freedom. The charges were inflated as I don't think there has ever been a proven causal link between what someone has posted online and actual violence being committed. Since these are not career criminals and had not had dealings with the law previously they accepted the advice and were given jail sentences for first offenses... for tweets. Had they pleaded not guilty its highly unlikely they would have been convicted, but they still would have been punished by the process anyway as they lost their freedom by being held in custody until the trial... for tweets. The one person I am aware of who did plead not guilty to these inflated nonsensical charges was found not guilty by a jury. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpqd9ljgqd9o
