Somdej and Huay Pheung police in Kalasin, NE Thailand, arrested a 19 year old man called Thanakorn Aranthong for the murder of an 18 year old woman in Suphanburi.

 

Thanakorn was hiding out at his wife's house after fleeing from a cement company. 

 

Earlier Sumitra, from Kanchanaburi, had been found stuffed in a black box wrapped in plastic bags left in undergrowth by a klong in the grounds of TD Concrete company in Sala Khao sub-district of Muang, Suphanbur, reported Thai Rath.

 

It was discovered that the couple had rooms next door to each other at the company and a sexual relationship developed.

 

The young lady wanted her boyfriend to take her as his wife and tell her father about the relationship but Thanakorn already had a wife and child in Kalasin. 

 

They argued and Thanakorn strangled her, stuffed her in the box then sought the help of a Myanmar colleague to carry the box away.

 

Police said that Thanakorn will be taken back to Suphanburi for prosecution.

Well now the family know about his affair, which is what he tried to hide I guess by killing her.

Another case of poor risk management on his part.

 

Couldn´t he at least have asked his wife if it was ok to have a mia noi? Some of them seems to even live together.

Unfortunately women often don't see it as "just a bit of fun", while men are happy to deceive women to get sex from them that they otherwise would not give.

 

Such a messed up world.

It's actually more likely he killed her just to get rid of her.  Thai women seem quite tolerant of affairs as "that's just what Thai men do".

Perhaps he tried to rape her...who knows, but let's hope he pays dearly.

You forgot to mention his poor little daughter.  15 years from now he will be out of jail and expecting her to support him and give him money to buy tobacco, drugs and alcohol.  She will be on a bus to Pattaya or Phuket.

It takes a rather bizarre sociopathic nature to consider the murder of your lover to be the better alternative to your wife finding out about the relationship. 

 

Safe to say he has a total lack of common sense and reason, combined with the emotional development of a 13 year old. A cautionary tale for married women? 

Here we go again. This angry, fragile, unstable, murderous Thai-male syndrome has always been a serious problem here. Recently it is totally off the charts. Murdering strangers, friends, family, girlfriends, wives and parents because they are told something they don't like. Serious and scary problem.

It’s not just Thai, you know, happens all over the world, unfortunately. Fragile male ego syndrome is certainly not a unique Thai thing.

I know its vengeful of me to to say this but part of me wants to see this guy hurt a real lot slowly then his life taken.

Thank you for that insight. But this is a report on a Thai-centric site about a Thai 'man' who murdered a Thai woman in Thailand. The fact that it might happen elsewhere, which I anyway doubt to the extent it happens in Thailand, is completely irrelevant, and also no excuse for the murder's behaviour.

So there is no comparative possible? Thai in isolation  only are capable of such acts? Then if so and  must be Thai  centric then due no critical comment because it then becomes nominal and non  comparable behaviour ? GMAB !

If justice were served as it should be (but most likely won’t be) then this should never happen, because this piece of <deleted> should be executed

As charming and informative as these lurid stories are about the worse aspects of human nature they are in fact degrading for the reader. Its basically murder porn. Why on earth are they on a forum like this? The editor who selects such stories is hopefully underestimating the readership of this forum but perhaps sadly not.

Maybe you should read the post that I reacted to. Like so many posters here they painted all Thai men with the same brush, basically said that all Thai men are stupid. I merely wanted to point out that fragile male ego syndrome is certainly not a unique Thai thing. And where did I defend or excuse the murderer’s behavior?

Didn't work out for my sister-in-law's errant husband.

 

He had this fantasy that he, his wife and his mia noi could happily cohabit at the latter's house. He came to visit his wife saying it was all OK with his mia noi and after a few days of cajoling, she agreed to leave with him in his pickup. She came back on the bus a couple of days later saying that when they got to his mia noi's house, she wasn't there and she had also changed all the locks.

Some off topic posts attempting to hijack the topic into a discussion about the US have been removed. 

I hope the coroner checks if she was pregnant. Sounds like there was more at stake than a broken relationship?
