I see just as many Thais if not more not wearing masks.

And as for quarantine its a joke to them...they just walk around as normalwith nomask

I don't see that..... plenty of Thais wearing masks, even on motorcycles when alone. Many Thais seem quite fearful of Covid.... if anything they have been misled by the media and have yet to grasp omicron is less to worry over.

  • what planet is this ### on, has he ever made a dicision that was close to being correct - ever !!!!

  • Anutin knows that the omicron variant has already spread through the population here, even if the daily government numbers are paltry. While opening up the nightlife venues will undoubtedly contribute

  • Isn't that the truth. Once you get powers , it's impossible to let go.

"foreigners should be kicked out of Thailand were not wearing face masks"

"many farang dress dirtily and don't shower. All hosts have to be very careful"

"Thailand’s health minister apologizes for not wearing a face mask"

Hospitalizations are very low, and most infected people stay home (or just go about their business and spread the virus further). There is really very little the government can do about.

Yes, this is a never ending story with many losers such the school kids and the rest of us. Just how many deaths have happen from Omicron in Thailand? Will there be a end to this story or will it go on and on year after year?

Manila is already more open than Thailand, yes there was an initial increase in case however not a significant increase in hospital utilisations.  The government here seems to understand that the country needs to get back to as close to normal as possible, then again, it is not controlled by a dictative regime.

He loves the power, control and limelight. Without Covid, he sinks back into the shadows.

God help us if this tool ever becomes PM.

What makes this man qualified to be health minister. The head of Desease Control is I assume medically qualified and would be assisted by qualified staff. Most heads of departments follow the advice of the qualified permanent staff in their department that is why the are employed there.

Looks like another Trump in the making?

Qualifications don’t come into it with this “government”, it’s about the size of your family’s bank account. ????

The unofficial and self proclaim PM has spoken let him speak it will be a matter of time he will stick his stinky foot in his big mouth!  ????

The Nut is only keen on one thing, taking over as the Muppet in Chief.

If he does, Thailand is doomed.

A lot of "influential people" are involved in providing services and equipment to enable the various Covid management regimes. These people are making a lot of money. They will, as they are working so closely with the MOPH undoubtedly have contacts with "their" minister. He is a politician who is building a power base with an eye to one particular job...

Mr. Anutin reportedly stated, according to Thai media, that there were “no plans” for reopening this industry anytime soon, despite ongoing outcry from business owners in this sector.

Yep, they just want to crush them all so then they can bring their new Thailand image to the world, which will be a flop as many will go elsewhere for what they want.

Delta still remains dangerous. Omicron less so. Delta needs to be controlled by identifying Delta only outbreaks. Everything else is fair game. Problem is its all referred as "Covid" which is misleading.

I posted this before and Ill post it again here.  Just report number of deaths, but report them in relation to number of other types of deaths including motorbikes, cancer, diabetes, mosquito born diseases.  Let people make up their own mind where the real risks are.  Maybe then we can stop the irrational fear and return to normal.

Hmmm…. This from a man who has absolutely no health qualifications……. Bahahaha…… tell us more nonsense please ?

Big private school near us has just closed again after it reopened just over a week ago because of kids catching covid.

They can make the commoners wear masks pretty much forever as the Hannibal Lecter look for its citizens is in vogue..

Someone is making a LOT of money at the current state of affairs...
So why change it?

Of course not. Easing restrictions means millions out in the streets, showing their extreme distaste for this toxic administration, and their desire for change.

Maintaining restrictions means the oppression continues, and their chance of clinging to power remains intact. 2% approval is all they got!

The Hannibal Lecter masking of the commoners runs completely through the Thai media.  Thai MSM talking head, variety show hosts, game show hosts and contestant - virtually everyone except for Lakhon soap actors wear masks on TV.  The most absurd are the Thai TV news anchors.  In the most Covid paranoid nations of the globe, TV News anchors probably take a test on entering the studio and then go on live maskless with their co-anchors.
Here in Hannibal Lecter Land?  Every TV news anchor are masked.
So this isn't about limiting the spread of a virus - a test could keep the anchors and TV crews all safe.  Nope - it's a unified message being sent to the commoners by the "public-private partnership" of governments and corporations.  "Mask Up And Conform."

In the not so far away feudal days in Thailand, the common class were separated from the ruling class by way of dress.  Although you see it in Lakhon period-pieces all the time, it's pretty much impossible to do an internet search and find pictures of the Thai feudal slave and servant classes.  The same applies here - dress separates the classes.  Hence - masking isn't going away anytime soon if at all.

So why isn't he wearing one in the photograph????

Of course not. He is just a totally unrealistic moron born with a golden spoon in his mouth! He has 0 connection to real life and peoples needs. Any civilized country would have kicked out this xenophobic wannabe health minister long time ago.

Elderly people can't stay home they have to go to hospital regularly

The clowns in office at present need it to go on, as if it doesn't, it will be The Chuckle Brothers and the rest of their  lot forced out by the millions off protesters.

Rodrigo Duterte loves wielding his power too, but not to the extent where he destroys his country.
