I didn't read that bit. I don't think anybody suggested attacking Russia, just not surrendering is the message.

At least you're on message from the Russian pov.

Russia’s defense minister has accused the U.S. and other Western nations of supplying Ukraine with weapons so that it continues fighting “until the last Ukrainian.”

Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday at a meeting with the top military brass that Washington and its allies are doing all they can to drag out Russia’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.

The US will gob off and gob off in support etc etc but will still watch as Ukraine is decemated by Russia.

I confirm you made it up. It started with you calling for a vote on who wanted to start a war. Stop lying

Here it is , from a post a few pages back

Now are you going to retract the allegation that I was lying ?

"my opinion is that the best chances of avoiding or at least postponing WW3 for a long time is to stop Putin right now. Giving him Donbass would be a win for Putin.

Not only would this encourage Putin and his successors to pursue that kind of tactics (hello Transnistria, the rest of Georgia, Kasakstan, etc. ) "

Here's what you claimed

Maybe you didn't follow the discussion ?

It was stated that  Putin intents to keep on invading other Countries after Ukraine , which would trigger a World war and the only way to stop a world War would be to attack Russia now ........................which would cause a world war

Stopping Putin doesn't necessarily mean attacking Russia. It does mean standing up to Russian invaders in Ukraine.

There have been other suggestions that Putin intents to build a Russian Empire  from Vlavivastok to Portugal and that Ukraine is just the beginning , there have been suggestions that Putin is going to do a Hitler and keep expanding and invading Countries and thats why he must be stopped  .

Putin has been stating for years that he wouldn't allow Ukraine to join NATO and Ukraine was getting closer to NATO and becoming affiliated with E.U/NATO .

Putin has also regularly asked for ethnic Russians in Ukraine to have more protection .

So the Russian invasion of Ukraine wasn't completely unexpected and Putin can say he was provoked into responding by Ukraine's growing alliance with the E.U/NATO

Did you think you would get brownie points from Vlad for that inconsiderate flipant post?

Ukraine is fighting for its very existence, there is nothing under control. Although they have already foiled Putins plans to have it over in a few days.

It was a boxers play, lead with the left and hit with the right.

The left was the forty mile convoy.

The ace for Ukraine is longer range artillery.

But that will only tie you up in more knots with your daily doom and gloom approach.

Putin can say whatever he likes. But it's what Putin does that counts. It's not only Ukraine that Russia has taken territory from. And that Finland, which has stayed non-aligned since WW2 is now seriously considering joining NATO tells us that Russia is not just a threat to nations with ethnic Russian populations that allegedly need protecting..

I take it that you are a Left Winger who wants to have a war ?

Wars are sometimes necessary, but IMO , they should be avoided and only begin a war when there's no other option

Like that left winger, Boris Johnson?

Finland considering to joining NATO isnt a indication that Russia wants to invade Finland .

A Country deciding  on whether to join or not join NATO bears no connection with Russian intentions .

That just shows that Finland is concerned about Russia invading Finland  , that doesnt show that Russia has any intention of invading Finland

So, what do you mean by a world war that would be caused by attacking Russia? A nuclear war? Because it's clear that Russia doesn't have the capacity to stage a serious conventional world war given that it hasn't even been able to subdue Ukraine after more than 50 days.

This is as nutty as claiming that Putin backing down on his demand that Western buyers pay Russia in roubles really wasn't backing down because his demands changed.

Unless you think that Finland, which has long been the anti-alarmist country when it comes to Russia and before that the Soviet Union, just bases a huge change in its posture towards its neighbor on a whim, your comment is ridiculous. You think Finland doesn't closely scrutinize the workings of the Russian State? You think it hasn't followed the rise of talk at the highest levels of reviving the Russian Empire? That the rise of absolute rule by an aggresssive despot isn't a ratonal cause for alarm?

Finland wants to join NATO as an insurance if Russia wants to build an empire and invade neighboring Countries , but that doesn't mean Russia has any intentions  of doing so .

Its like taking out car insurance , you take out car insurance to be insured if you have an accident , you don't get insured because you know that you will be having an accident next week
