Saying Plan B is going well is a stretch.  By all credible accounts Russia is sacrificing a lot of men for small gains in territory.  It remains to be seen how much territory Russia has when it finally gives up on throwing people into the meat grinder.  Then Russia must face the task of holding onto this territory.

 

Every army wants more of everything.  I guarantee you that the Russian generals also want more of everything.  Once again; if the weapons provided by the west weren't making a difference there wouldn't be the hysterical denunciations by Russia and Russia supporters of the delivery of the weapons.

Weren't those helicopters laid to rest nicely on the first day of the invasion when they tried to take the airbase near Kiev and got repelled by the Ukrainians? Not much more to talk about on that front.

 

Since then the the amount of war crimes committed have been one of the sadder aspects of this attack that makes it so notable and forms very much part of the progression of Russia's barbarism.

You keep defending the indefensible. Please explain to me how mentioning/discussing Russian warcrimes means hijacking this thread. War crimes are war crimes, no matter how you slice it, and the Russian army is committing them wholesale, on a daily basis. Or are you saying they aren’t? Because there is plenty of evidence already, and probably much more to come.

But this month they only offered one billion for equipment.

It sends mixed messages as to whether they have the equipment to provide or want to prolong and draw out it out as long as possible.

For one thing most of their artillery takes shells that conform to Russian specs and they can't get any more shells. For another, it takes time to train troops to use the new artillery.

False. The 1 Billion was an additional amount available from a fund of 11 billion that Biden can use at his discretion.

The Ukraine is running out of Soviet era ammo and that is not being made anymore so they

hope they can get some from other countries who still have it.

They are asking for long range artillery so they can hit the Russians but the Russian

guns can not reach them.

Makes things a lot easier for the Ukrainian soldiers.

I say give them the tools so they can finish the job.

Austrian public broadcast today put the volume of this deal at 6 to 7% of total russian gas imports into EU, apparently of the already reduced 'current' imports after some Baltic states, Finland and I believe Netherlands already told them where to shove it ...

I would amend that to relatively well. But that's a low bar to clear considering what a disaster the attempt to capture Kiiv was. For one thing, not only did Russian forces fail to capture Kharkiv, Ukraine's second largest city, but they were pushed back all the way into Russia. For another, Ukraine has recaptured some territory in the south. And despite the fact that the Ukrainians are outnumbered and outgunned in Severodonetsk, Russian progress there has been painfully slow.
