Ukrainian Teams Hunt Russian Drones With Laser Rifles, Gun Trucks, Apps

Teams of Ukrainians are hunting Russian drones, including Iranian-made kamikaze types, with the help of rifle-esque systems equipped with military-grade laser pointers, typically used to mark targets and other objects of interest on the ground for friendly pilots, as well as thermal optics. In this case, the lasers are used to direct fire from the ground, including from shoulder-fired small arms, machine guns mounted on pickup trucks and other light vehicles (as well as modified commercial cars and vans) at uncrewed aircraft flying overhead. In a 21st century twist on civilian air raid spotting organizations dating back to World War I, these anti-drone groups are first alerted to incoming threats by volunteers using tablet-like devices that quickly share reported sightings and related location information.

Pentagon gives Ukraine green light for drone strikes inside Russia

The Pentagon has given a tacit endorsement of Ukraine’s long-range attacks on targets inside Russia after President Putin’s multiple missile strikes against Kyiv’s critical infrastructure.

Since daily assaults on civilians began in October, the Pentagon has revised its threat assessment of the war in Ukraine.

This represents a significant development in the nine-month war between Ukraine and Russia, with Washington now likelier to supply Kyiv with longer-range weapons.

Who is so naive to believe "unbiased" WaPo's clarification of Minsk Accords? As recently ex-chancellor Angela Merkel - one of the main actors of the negotiations - disclosed, what was the purpose of the treaties: to buy time.

Who is so naive to believe anything coming out of the Kremlin or Putin’s mouth? Nearly everything coming out of there is demonstrably false, lies or misinformation. Either that, or just war mongering nonsense or threats.

The first video has appeared online depicting the Ukrainian army’s ex-Slovenian M-55S tanks.

The video depicts what appears to be a four-person M-55S crew training on its new-old vehicle. The thick mud—a sticky hallmark of Ukraine’s wet early winter—might confirm the video is recent.

The M-55S despite its age could represent a glimpse at the Ukrainian army’s tank future. It’s all about the gun.

Sounds like good news from the incoming House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul

Incoming House Foreign Affairs chairman favors heavily arming Ukraine "100%

"I think going with the amount of investment we've had is very small relative to destroying the Russian military," he told CBS News in an interview Friday. "And that's what we've done without one American soldier being attacked, killed or in country. To me, that's a pretty good investment."

Asked if he would favor more heavily arming the Ukrainians to bring the war to a faster conclusion, McCaul responded, "100% because the longer you drag this out, the more bloodshed."

Attacks on legitimate military targets inside Russia using Ukrainian and captured Russian weapons should have been allowed long ago.

The aim was to gain time with a ceasefire in order to later come to peace between Russia and Ukraine.

There’s a slight difference between bending the truth a little on occasion (Merkel), and knowingly, willingly and constantly spreading propaganda, lies and misinformation (Kremlin, Putin and his cronies). There is also a slight difference between a democratically chosen and sane leader, and a war mongering lunatic dictator with a huge inferiority complex and even bigger delusions of grandeur.

Twisting of facts: Do you have the link that the Indian PM said something like that?

The fact is that they met in September.  Do they need to meet every two months? Perhaps you show few examples of other super leaders meeting more often?

What is a "propaganda, lies and misinformation" about Minsk treaties? Hadn't it been serious enough that the big leaders of Germany and France had taken their precious time travelling repeatedly to Minsk in order to set up some measures for avoiding the deaths of innocent population of Ukraine? And to set up a special mission of OSCE to monitor the atrocities?

If you want to discuss avoiding the deaths of innocent population of Ukraine, I suggest you take it up with your guy Putin. He’s the one that decided to invade Ukraine, remember? His army is the one committing war crimes on a daily basis. Putin and his cronies say Ukraine has no right to even exist, and they want to kill as many Ukrainians as they can.

And has been noted time and time again om this forum, the commissions found that most of those atrocities were committed by Russia's allies and the Russians. What's more, it's been noted time and time again that the Russian denied that they were subject to the Minsk agreements since they had no soldiers in the Donbas.
