National – The United States’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has added Thailand to its highest-risk Level 4 category for travel on Monday, March 7th, along with Hong Kong and New Zealand.

The destinations were classified as “Level 4: Covid-19 Very High” risk when more than 500 cases per 100,000 people over 28 days were recorded, according to the CDC considerations.

This means that it is recommended for all travelers from the US to avoid traveling to Thailand. If they must travel to the country, they are highly advised to be fully vaccinated and up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines before travel.

But, But, our queen is what 95 and got over it ! Load a nonsense. USA should just ban fatty travel - no, wait, that would still account for about 90% of Americans. The CDC should look at banning trips

Reality hits, nobodys buying those low numbers.

By low numbers I'm talking about less than 200k infections per day.

This will sting.

If one follows CDC's guidelines, nobody can travel anywhere in the entire World, including most of Europe.  Of course, China is level I. Unfortunately, large American companies will be reluctant to let people travel to high risk countries.

WARNING

This is the same CDC that was unable to come up with a reliable Covid test early in 2020 at the same time Europe and Japan was testing daily.   And BTW . . the FDA also blocked the use of these other tests, probably out of pride, even though they worked.

Another blow to Thai tourism industry.

Totally meaningless. There are 195 countries in the world and 135 are category 4.

Well done to Thailand in joining most of the rest of the world!

Very different from the outlook of our minister who was thumping his chest, that he was the best in the world in controlling Covid!!

Keep the people afraid. Then they can control them. At least the people who can't think for themselves.

Seems more magnanimous than beating the dead humans (6 mil and counting, another 6000 yesterday), that Covid has killed, but that hasn't stopped either.

Never seen so many common colds. That must be the "risk"? Just ask local students - no one is getting really ill - exceptions are those that are immune compromised and have prior serious illness.

Right and then there are people who have been exposed but not infected. I'm sure I've been exposed, the virus is everywhere:

So with input from the US embassy CDC also doesn’t believe Thailand’s miraculously low case numbers.

Thailand - hub of fake news.

As opposed to what?! ...  the numbers for the USA are horrific. It would seem to me its a heck of a lot safer in LOS than anywhere is the US (especially if you're black) and that includes factoring in the danger of travel on the roads here.

This is good, and you will be off Putin's hate list!!! This may be a new way to get more tourist here. So if your on the hate list come to Thailand the risk is less.

Definitely no risk of Putin’s nuclear missiles coming to Thailand, unless the aged Soviet guiding system goes wrong.

NZ also on the CDC list despite 2 years of national isolation with zero COVID policy.

Singapore is also on the list in spite of having one of the highest covid vaccinated populations on the planet at well over 85 percent.
