FREE ONLINE TRANSLATOR SUGGESTIONS, please

Featured Replies

For several years I've been using a great translator. After download it shows 2 small revolving circles inside of each other in the top right hand corner of every page/site etc., which give very easy access to translation.

But yesterday it disappeared, and I have no idea why.

I've searched my old downloads and in control panel the list of apps etc., that i've downloaded in the past but i can't find anything. Also meaning I can't find the name of the great app.

Any suggestions about the above, or any suggestions/recommendations of an alternative very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Suvorova Development- Thai - English Translator

available on the play store.

Free, easy to use and does a very reasonable job.

Probably wise to be quite literal with one's choice of words and avoid colloquialisms.

Google does OK, but with translators I think you need to be able to read Thai to see what the translation is.

Thanks for the replies.

I agree that google translate is very usefu when it's a translation From Thai to English or the reverse and it's important to see the full background details.

My translation needs are simple and more general and includes many languages.

I've since found the translator I 'lost'.

The name is 'IM Translate'. When installed it's a Chrome extension.

I eventually discovered that it was still in my Chrome extensions but somehow I had disabled it.

One click and it was enabled and the small permanent icon (a small circle within a small cirle) reappeared in the top right hand corner of my screen (next to the favorites star) and as happened previously when I click on the small icon (the small circle within a circle) it's activates and automatically translates whatever I've been looking at, perhaps in Spanish or Chinese or Japanese, to English. But of course I can change the settings to translate from/to any language.

A happy camper.

There is much hype about "DeepL".

Considered better than Google.

I haven't tried it because it does not include Thai language.

Just translated the first paragraph of the OP to German.

DeepL in this case a minimal fraction better than Google (one word matches better/I like it better).

Complicated Thai text translations from Google are most often hilarious. My favorite are accident reports from Thai online sources :cheesy:
