Mine of 4 years

Own shop, works 7 days a week

Pays for food, buys me lots of clothes and presents, never asks for money directly.

Buy her clothes and food and we go on holiday.

Family

Told me they do not want a Dowry, all very nice and love me to bits when we go down to visit.

In 4 years never seen any warning signs.

There are good ones

I see a Chinese girl 21. Great kisser, great in bed. Hot body.

It gets boring after a while.

Be nice to find a woman who has a brain but is also horny.

To be honest, she looks older then 21.

Thanks for sending me the picture.
Not really my type.

I remember when I drove first time to the village.
I was an attraction.

My ex told me, that her family's status is increasing rapidly in the village now.
One sister is the "mia noi" from a Brit, working in Bahrain.
The other one married an old german who could be her grand-father.

And me... but this didn't last long.

Status going down again.

Why do I not feel sorry for the OP?

I have warned him, if he has been reading my warnings, one should remain celibate, forever.

And yet, you guys just do not listen.

You think you can have your cake and eat it, too.

Maybe pie, also.

Love is pain.

Be celibate, and enjoy the rest of your lives, my friends.

This is NOT a joke.

I came to this conclusion over a decade ago.

Best decision of my life.

Anyway, it ups to you.....

Have fun, and stop crying when you get burned.

Celibate?

No way.

What would I do with my spare time?

If it works for you fine, others become religious, or something else to get a grip around.

I'm happy with all my women and life  throughout my short life so far. And best of all, it ain't over before the fat lady sings

From my experience, Asian women (esp. Thai, Filipinas, Chinese) who want a Western partner, do so for the purpose of 'taking care of them', i.e. giving them lots of cash (the more clever ones will ask you to "lend" them money for an unspecified time), a high marriage dowry, and expensive gifts, so one is merely the proverbial 'walking ATM' to them.

Having only limited experience with other ethnicities, I'd be curious whether it is the same with Indonesian or Malaysian women.

Same same but, being Muslims they insist on you joining their religioin which involves mutilating a certain part of your anatomy to marry them. If that was not already done by your parents at birth, steer clear.

I have dated a good many Thai women.  I have never had a single one of them use this phrase with me.  But I have heard it regularly and often when chatting with bar girls.

Met a much younger than 39 in Udon last year. We spent some time together. She worked in a dental office and was studying to be a nurse. She also sprung on me that she was "tired" of working. Haven't seen her in a year and recently she's contacting me. Guess she's gotten tired again! 555

I think the biggest issue is that you haven't explained your own situation.

Are you working in Thailand, or retired (pensioner or otherwise)?

If she spends time with you, and never sees you working, while she toils away in a restaurant or whatever, she automatically thinks she is entitled to the same lifestyle as you.

If the dragon was not there at the start, then this is a sure way to make it emerge...

All lasting relationships require honesty and fairness. Notice I do not say equality.

This is a reason why age-gap and income-gap relationships often fail, if one person goes into it expecting equality instead of fairness.

I treat my wife fairly, but we are by no means equal. She has her responsibilities, a teenage son from deadbeat previous husband, and I have my own responsibilities and she simply does not allow me to financially support her.

If they don't mind the big bellies, and ugly faces, they won't have a problem finding someone to take care.

There are plenty of guys come over here because they cannot get laid in their own country, and have good pensions, so they will always be these guys looking for someone to take care of.

Time for all the Thai Girl clichés to be dusted off and recycled.

I take care of my Thai partner, and she takes care of me in a way no Western girl could match.

In addition to the usual housekeeping and cooking, she manages all the bureaucracy and bills plus things like 4:00 am airport pick-ups where she greets me with a smile and an iced drink.

I once showed her a news article that said men need to ejaculate at least 21 times a month to maintain good prostate health .... and she started a diary!

Can you kindly provide a link to that news article because I'm pretty sure it's 31.

I think you mean they cannot get laid in their own country by a woman 30 years younger than them.

After living in Thailand full-time for almost 20 years, at age 70 I got married here in Thailand less than a year ago. I went to the US Embassy - Bangkok to get the 'Free to Marry' affidavit. The 3 options were Divorced, Widowed, and Single never married. I checked Single.

The old embassy hand looked at me quizzically and said "Are you sure you want to swear to the fact that that you have NEVER been married?

Yes.

But I like reading of all the multi-marriages and divorces here-&-there and having daughters back home older than their Thai wives here. And of all the multi-country convoluted inheritance plans.

Funny how kreng jai เกรงใจ doesn't seem to apply to relationships with foreigners sometimes. Quite the opposite often applies. I hate to say it, but I guess some folks don't see foreigners as deserving the same considerations as Thais.

Here's another one for you, as you know the girls can and do play the long game, a guy i know said one wife waited 15 years for the farang to die then went back with her thai husband

I guess the farang got what he wanted, as did she.

Without further details, no harm I can see. People often remarry after losing a spouse.
