I person writing " I think they might be drugged" isn't proof that they are .

What evidence or proof do you have that the tigers are being drugged ?

For the “safety” of the public, the cubs are usually sedated to prevent biting and clawing, and then stored in small cages when no longer needed.

And it's not only the sedating, but maltreatment and malnutrition among other disturbing and exploitative practices. :post-4641-1156693976::1zgarz5::post-4641-1156693976:

Thus far only one person has answered my question, thanks for the4 info on Pattaya Zoo. Quite a lot of posts from the tree huggers I specifically asked not to bother to chime in, we know your views and feelings, I do not want to hear more of them.

My son went to wash elephants in Chiang Mai's rivers, came back full of how elephant places abused elephants and how we must not ride on them as the poor things suffer from bad backs etc. Utter cobblers of course but that is what these so-called animal lovers tell them. Of course he was horrified when I told him that no one wants a redundant working animal or could look after it or afford to feed it so now tractors and winches have replaced elephants what did he suggest, apart from a bullet, be done with them?

He had no answer, and none of the tree huggers can answer that question sensibly.  "Elephant sanctuaries" they will say  glibly, because that is what they have been told. Fine, who pays for those? Who buys the land, puts elephant-proof fences around it so they don't wander off and scoff some poor farmers crops? Who pays the men to care for them? Who pays the fodder bill day after day for 5o years or more? Ditto tiger sanctuaries where tourists don't visit or interact. Who pays?

Funny really, the most vociferous animal rights proponents cannot answer that question. They'll glibly tell you endangered species must be protected, but cannot think of a way to do it that isn't going to cost an awful lot of money. So elephant football actually works, as does elephant artistry, the animals get some  exercise, earn money which pays for their keep.

Same with tigers, those 140 odd tigers in Kanchanaburi were bonded to the monks in a personal way, went for daily walks, were human-socialised. So maybe some cubs were killed and income derived from body parts - yes, it is a hateful business but tigers are NOT pussy cats, they eat a lot and that costs a lot. The monks managed to keep 140 odd tigers self-supporting and contented and no evidence of drugging. Along come do-gooders, government takes the cats away and 2/3 die in cramped cages. For me they were better off exploited for tourists, they got fed, walked, socialised and were not locked away in cramped quarters with no sort of life.

And apart from some looney-toons pushing my buttons, is there anywhere else apart from Pattaya?

Those Tigers were not kept there for their benefit , but as a money

earner , plain and simple, like a lot of other Temples have a draw of

some kind of another, to get the customers in ,Buddha must be

spinning in Nirvana.

Please don't support animal prisons. These animals are drugged, adused, malnourished and physically unfit. Educate yourself and your children and become part of the anti-animal cruelty & exploitation movement. ????

LOL, in your previous post (video) the tiger did not look ' drugged' or 'physically unfit'. On the contrary, the tiger looked very fit. And as for 'malnourished', not anymore, lol, he's got a meals on wheels home delivery service. ????

Isn't this common sense.  Hey, I wonder how I can pet a tiger?

It's not a special petting tiger.......OK?  It's not a Thai Tiger that allows you to pet it.

It was only a few years ago when backpackers in CM thought riding an elephant was good for the elephant.

we gotta get woke a little faster

Sorry Mac, but the fact you think tigers live in herds discounts any view you may have on the subject as educated.

A wooden spoon stirring failure there mate.

Yes, it shows that Mac doesn't know tigers ( he confuses with lions ) tigers are solitary animals, there are looking females only for reproduction, and after they live alone again

as the rest of your posts, you don't seem to know tigers

BTW, here in my village, many many cats, impossible to stroke them , they are with people only to be feed

You sound like a famous THai politicians once said about corruption, show me the receipt. They removed him from office with a coupe, his son, different style, is still in politics.

So you complain about Thailand through the Thai pass and insurance requirements, you call people who disagree with animal exploitation morons, and then start flaming about health and safety in your home country. To top it off you

can't afford a ฿1,300 (£30) return flight to Chiang Mai.

Good Lord!

Absolute nonsense.

Good luck getting close enough to a wild big cat to stroke it.  And keeping your arm if you do.

Phuket Zoo years ago at the Tiger enclosure. Handler had no arm due to an attack, not my video but I remember going there and seeing him. Never went there again, disgusting place and fortunately now shut down

For those who support Tiger kingdoms why not support rounding  up all the soi dog puppies and clean them up for kids petting zoos? After fattening them up the ones that get too big or ornery can be sold to the dog meat trade. At least that is an edible protein source. More utility  than grinding up tiger dongs and bones for bunk medicines to be sold to superstitious people.

Such places are seen as exploitative and abusive to the animals and their adult parents. To take the cubs for their mothers usually more often than not requires drugging of the mothers and the unnatural separation of them their babies.

Please don't give funding in any way to such places.

I understand that children and adults would like to pat and cuddle all sorts of animals but its not about what we want its what it's safe and healthy for the animals.

Might I suggest, if your kids are old enough to comprehend that imprisonment and usury of animals is both bad for the animals and for humans as well (although most of us are so detached from nature and ourselves as to not even be aware of the existential damage we do to ourselves and them when doing so). Perhaps sit down with, and explain to your kids what is actually going on in these places and let them grow from this experience not the unaware, feelgood experience of cuddling animals that is imprisoned simply, cynically and callously for someones pleasure.

The olden, cruel arrogant patriarchal days of caging animals for amusement is over, and some would say long overdue!

Don't be fooled by the rhetoric that these places serve good purposes and help the animals.

Why would anyone in their right mind even attempt to pet a Tiger?

Especially if it was not drugged, and was 'Tame' and used to being with people,Pit Bull's can be put in the same category, and we have read a lot of horror stories about their erratic behaviour in domestic situations.

Out in the wild, in the jungle .

Male tigers fight each other to be leader of the herd and being leader of the herd gives them the right to breed with the females .

When one tiger fights and kills a rival tiger and becomes leader of the herd, he will also kill any cub tigers , he will do this because it encourages the female tigers to breed again .

Instead of letting a new herd leader kill all the cubs , people go and rescue the cubs and bring them up themselves , and to pay to for , they open Tiger kingdom where people  can pay an entrance fee and this goes towards paying for the food .

Would you prefer to just let the new tiger herd leader kill all the baby tigers or would you support people rescuing those soon to be killed tiger cubs ?

Its the Law Of The Jungle, they are in their natural habitat, they are doing what comes naturally in the wild,we don't need humans messing with their eating and survival habits in the wild,or they will all be wearing gastric bands and on medication and diet plans for obesity ????????

They are not wild tigers , they are tame , they were born in captivity and are happy being around humans

"...and are happy being around humans".

Only because they are so doped-up they have no idea what is going on!
