Video: Motorcyclist tries to duck as barrier at level crossing descends - OUCH!

A video from the PR department of the State Railways of Thailand was going viral on Facebook, reported Daily News.

 

The five second clip may have been short but it might remind people to slow down and stop at railway barriers....it might!

 

A motorcyclist without helmet was approaching at high speed. As the barrier descended he thought he could duck and make it through.

 

He couldn't. 

 

He comes off and his bike goes flying.

The SRT said he had a nasty headache. In addition damage was done to state property.

 

They reminded people of the importance of slowing down and stopping when they see barriers coming down - for everyone's safety. 

 

The incident happened in Yala province in the far south of the country near the station of Raman in Raman district.

the key is to drift the bike while barely keeping your knee about the ground.  shoulders squared, and make sure the drift starts after you hit 100 kph.

 

it's quite easy and I can actually drift under the train as well.

I dont know what it is but locals seem to have no ideac about judging speed and distance !

 

So many times we see accidents related to it, unbelievable !

I was recently on a train trip (not in Thailand).  The barriers were down, a car was stopped at the barriers and a 2nd car came up behind it, decided it could get through.  The car went around the first car and tried to get across.  It was hit by the train, traveling at 80 MPH (just under 130 KPH).  The train was delayed for 7+ hours.   The two occupants were killed instantly and the car exploded.  

Idiots are not limited to Thailand.
