Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
From above: " was also surprised to see that using my Kasikorn debit card I can just touch it on the receptacles in places like McDonald’s and 7-Eleven and pay direct from my bank. Uber taxi from my bank too, I think you could live cashless here quite easily". I noticed in Australia quite a few men had their card in their shirt pocket, usually buttoned up. They lean towards the bank machine in the shop where are buying whatever and listen for a quick sound indicating their transaction has completed. -

No wonder people like to shop at Lazada.
It's cheap. But it is also poor value for money given the shoddiness of the goods, which with some products doesn't matter too much. I aloo hate the fact that the goods often don't match the photo or description in the ads. Try ordering some new toothbrush heads for your electric toothbrush. I sent mine back twice and gave up in the end. Also I changed my phone but kept the same number, and they refused the password? Can I get it back despite numerous attempts at resetting via the website? No, so I stopped using the website because of poor service on top of the shoddy goods. -

Corruption scandal hits the brakes: Thailand’s bus industry whistleblows dirty dealings
To be fair, some applicants will submit valid conversions which are properly inspected and a certificate issued but later the bus owners modify the installation but do not resubmit the vehicle for inspection and recertification. The original certificate will specify the number of cylinders permitted. What I don't understand in todays update is this: Furthermore, some of the gas tanks were installed inside the bus, Unlike trucks where the cylinders are usually racked externally behind the cab, with buses they are installed in the rear of the baggage compartment which is directly under the seating floor. Where would they be installed outside the bus? Has anyone seen external gas cylinders on a 'tour' bus? -

Democrat regime censorship found unconstitutional
Posts using derogatory and toxic nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly, this applies to both sides of the political debate. -

Huge markup on imported foods. Why?
Can't say I have noticed, I tend to focus on the cheeses I regard as good value and taste. MAKRO probably has some blue cheeses, I don't think Stilton is among them. This is a real cheese shop, in St.Andrews, Scotland. You know, the place where golf started. -

Bus Crashes into Pickup Truck, Which Overturns, 10 Injured in Collision: Pathum Thani
Seems many posters can't read, it was a BUS transporting the workers, NOT the Pick Up. Sure about that... - A factory bus collided with a pickup truck (which was ???) carrying construction workers. The bus was a factory bus... not a 'bus from a construction company'. Additionally, construction workers are usually 'transported' in the flat bed of a pickup. .. as usual, the article lacks clarity, I'm not sure how the readership can be 'faulted' for any misinterpretation here. -

Corruption scandal hits the brakes: Thailand’s bus industry whistleblows dirty dealings
There would be no inspectors left - same if you sought out corruption in any of the xivil service here - its so endemic and people only work in government jobs for the bribes- you have to bribe someone to get the job! Etc etc -

Cannabis-Intoxicated British Man Arrested for Trespassing and Overstay
He may be half Thai, but may not have a Thai passport, maybe to evade military service or its hard to get if the father is Thai ,its easy if the mother is Thai the embassy told me this when I got my sons Thai passport. But we don't know if he is of Thai extraction, the name sounds Thai. If the mother was Thai the embassy excepts the birth certificate translated into Thai, but they say if father they want DNA sample of proof. Then the parents might have parted ways, who knows maybe some one will through some light on this. -

If cost is zero consideration: What is the very best clinic for dental implant in CM?
you might want to look for anyone who will do IV sedation , go to dentist , fall asleep, wake up few hours later all done, lovely stuff, only found one place in Thailand that will do it and that's in BKK and they use the teacher from the local hospital anesthesiology dept to administer it. Had 2 implants done May 27th 2011 (in the UK)just checked the email from my UK dentist. No problems with either. Density of bone decides what type of implant is used, some people have bone like oak others like styrofoam, my dentist said mine was like styrofoam when he did it. I would NOT opt for a "done in a day" type procedure, mine took about 6-8 months whilst they waited for the bone to grow around the implant before final fitting of crown. Was totally painless but then I was off my head on drugs and remember nothing. No pain when I had recovered from that either. -

Huge markup on imported foods. Why?
We know about the taxes and shipping costs, but I think we should all just admit it, the main reason is just pure greed. ie Lazada can sell a tin of corned beef for about 190Bt, that same sized tin though a different brand in Villa Market sells for 400Bt, not much different in the taste but as I have said, just pure greed. -
