Cost of Respray

Featured Replies

I have a black Honda Civic that I would like to know how much it would cost to have a bare metal respray? Also a non bare metal respray? Any recommendations as to where it can be done? Thanks to all in advance.

Exterior only, yes? I would say from about ฿10,000 to about ฿300,000.

Go to one or the shops that do insurance work for a low-mid price.

Whare are you? There is a shop in Salaya that looks inexpensive and does okay work.

You could try one of the new car dealers that has a booth for a midrange price.

Doing a "bare-metal" paint job is silly unless you're doing a full, high-end restoration, which is doubtful given it's a Civic. Not that there is anything wrong with a Civic, but a new Civic would cost less than a high-end restoration.

You can try this shop. I once got a quote from them for my civic to be resprayed (which I didn't do). It was about 35K, but that was not a colour change.

I think it's very hard to say.First of all where are you.?

Without knowing the condition of the bodywork etc I don't see how you can get anywhere near a reasonable guesstimate.

I drove around different places where I live for a door and front wing dent repares and repray the prices ranged from 3800 to 9000.

Thanks for the replies, I am in north Bangkok, the paint work is just a little dull from the sun, and there the odd nicks from a few small stones on the bonnet. There is no rust.

Get someone to compound and polish it if you cannot do it yourself.

Yeah, I would have it buffed out first *and maybe detailed)  and see where you're at.

Getting it shiny will help find any dents and dings as well.

Do you want to change the color?

I can recommend a Detailing company called Bloc C... They can do what is called Whitening ... 1500-2800 depends on the car size. Bloc C have a FB page and I know they have a shop in your area.

Yes I know your car is black but I think the same process ...

I'd love to have it British Racing Green, but will stick with the current colour due to expense.

When you have it quoted, be sure to ask then to quote both, might not be that much different.

That's a nice color, that's what I painted my '74 Chevy C30....

Are you not speaking about "teeth"?

As suggested a black gloss wrap could very well be the best option.

Typical cost to paint one panel is 3000 Bt. The whole car including door shuts etc 40,000 Bt.

Depends who does it and if they remove windows so you don't see the overspray around the window rubbers.

Main problem with Thais is their habit of covering the whole car in filler (also known in the motor trade as pudding). They then wet sand it, the filler absorbs the water. They then paint on top and wonder why it cracks and blisters when the filler dries out. Duh, it hurts my brain.

Anyone know a professional paint shop in Bkk? Please PM Da Roadrunner.
