Road tax stickers

A trivial thing I know, but what is the secret of sticking your new tax certificate on the vehicle's windscreen? The transparent backing supplied flops all over the place when trying to apply it and fails to hold the tax certificate in place. A few months later, after being exposed to the sun, it falls off. I've resorted to sticking it on with cello tape. I've just replaced last years certificate and had to use white spirit to get the adhesive off. Yes I know it's all silly stuff, but there must be a secret.  ????????

You can buy the same thing but has a sticky back, so you first stick the tax thing on, the back of it on the sticky side, then just the edges stick to the screen...????

The self-stick soft plastic holders I have received in the past from LMG, AXA and more recently Roojai all stick like catsh*t on a blanket,

Maybe the OP can try and clean the corner of the windshield with any (blue) glass cleaner, dry it and try again?

Also, don't try and apply it when the glass is hot or in the direct sun. That way you can get any air bubbles out better.

Yeah, they either stick or they don't.

Ours has been on for years, I peel the top down and slide out the old "disc" before slipping in the new one and re-attaching the top bit.

Not worth changing one's insurance over a 10bht sticky thingy...????

My sticky thing works OK.

I prefer, and use, the very smooth plastic ones that have no adhesive. If you get eye windscreen completely clean the hold with no problem. I hate the the ones that have actual sticky on them.

I am kind of OCD regarding this, so I found myself a very nice acrylic holder on Lazada for 75฿. It's cut a little bit bigger than the Tax paper. so it fits perfectly. It makes the yearly changes a breeze.

Here is the link if you are interested. They have different models. It comes with 3M double-sided tape to stick it on the windshield.

Cleaned with alcohol and white spirit. But still become unstuck. Maybe the company issuing them are winding me up.???? Thanks to all for the answers.
