Thai Rath reported that Thong Lo police and Region 5 of the metropolitan police arrested a man at a block of flats last night after a chase.

A red Mirage car had fled the scene of a checkpoint and been chased to the Pracha Songkhroh intersection in Din Daeng.

A video showed a police patrol motorcycle on the tarmac and officers with their weapons drawn.

Four tires were shot out but the driver still continued to evade arrest.

He has reportedly been arrested - Siam Rath had a picture of that - with Thong Lo police chief Pol Col Duangchote Suwanjarat saying that "ice" and a sword was found in the suspect's car.

The drama unfolded around 8 pm yesterday evening when the driver, fearing the consequences of what he had in the car, drove off.

Pol Col Duangchote said the suspect would appear in Bangkok South district court this morning, Monday.

Feared arrest because of what he had in the car but not afraid to shoot at police. Classic.

I read a saw it as only the police were doing the shooting.

Disappointed to find that the 'Red Mirage' is not some Marvelesque evil villain but just a potty little red car.

I guess it's pure luck that nobody in the immediate vicinity was wounded or killed like previous incidents when gung-ho cops shoot at cars.

How many tyres did he have left?

20 years hard labour will give him time to think about the stupid way he acted.

Just met the bloke.   He paid his 500 baht fine and we are having some drinks.

They found Ice and a sword in the car, so which one of those items did he use to shoot at police?????

they had chance to brake or shoot also at all his windows so making his escape impossible or easier to trace.

Also shooting at dashboard would incapacitate car

Another guy with drugs and a weapon in his car.

And posters are going on about who shot at who?

In the USA this car would be full of holes and the driver would be DEAD.

  Just saying.

Classic.  Where was it reported that he shot at police?

Neither, obviously.  What makes you think that he shot at the police?

No, it doesn't say anything about Thai laws but it did say a lot about Iamfarang and his false claim!

You fire a gun the penalty should be a harsh one. If a gun was not fired then fair enough

There's no "if" about it, he did not fire a gun.  If he had have done, it would have been reported in the OP.
