What would you tell your 18yo self?

Who is that girl? Haven't I seen her on one of your posts on "Blast from the past..."?

The full message to myself would more likely be:

"Marry her now or you'll spend the rest of your life working hard, making lots of money and retiring to Thailand in search of what you cannot find again."   ????

When I think about my own 18 year old self a couple of things come to my mind which are personal and don't make much sense for other people.   For other 18 year old people I would suggest: D

  • That there is no need to be so painfully shy and you are actually more appealing to the opposite sex than you think you are.

Just remember one thing don't loose you head , to a woman that spends your bread.

( not original but good advice anyway )

Get a Fender, not a Gibson!

When I frst started playing professionally at 18, my first Bass was a Gibson EB4, it was a great bass guitar to play, but lacked the good looks of the Fender Jazz, Precision and Mustang.

But I'll bet that EB4 is worth a bomb now.

Yes, but that was in 1965, about five years later I changed it for a Fender Precision.

Which would also be worth a bomb now!

Don't look back and play the regret game, because today (2022) you're as young fit and healthy as you'll ever be!

And tomorrow you're a day closer to returning to star-dust.

Die comfortably broke! You can't take it with you, so use it tonight!

Buy Microsoft stock as soon as available.

!!! JOKING ALERT !!!

Get a job with the Trump organization as a male escort. Vacation in Moscow to take a seminar in undetectable poisons

One selfish thing for me.

One good deed for the world.

Go with your gut.

Don't cave into peer pressure and follow the script: Stay in a Western country, buy a house and work in an office job for 30 years to pay off the mortgage while keeping up with the Joneses.

Exactly what I'm doing now, except getting the money out of my investment companies is like the proverbial blood out of a stone.
