I have been to most of the other 76 provinces but never found one I liked.

Thanks Rooster. Now all you have to do is convince the other 5 million Bangkokians to never come up to our country areas. They are really a pain in the a, cannot drive, clog up our roads as if it is Bangkok and love noisy karaoke at all hours when they cannot sing a note.

Love city people as long as they stay there.

Bangkok is great, just don’t look up, else you may disappear into one of those broken man-hole covers that seem to pervade the region. Having spent half my two years in Thailand there, there is only one place I have a lower opinion of than Bangkok and that’s New York City.

Well done for your feelings Mr Rooster.
Hoping the good feelings and entertaining stories return shortly.

Excellent Rooster???? Ruffled several feathers. Parochial Brits most I bet who think metropolitan living equates to a visit to Harrods from zone 4 and beyond - overwhelmed.

Lived and worked partied in central London for years, never home alone playing Scrabble ????

Each to their own

Thing about both cities and rural environments you need to learn to tune out the unwanted every day noise

In my rural setting reasonable solitude is readily available at a local coffee house, or short term, air conditioned bedroom

I sleep soundly until 5am then doze, maybe due to being poor, resulting in my busy schedule on the farm ???? so much so that I didn't catch one minute of the Queens funeral

I fully understand how people can be easily bored with village life, I understand the enjoyment of city living,

I chose to be in the Thai countryside, I figured I was equipped to handle it, so far that is the case, not for everyone by any stretch of the imagination

Which is why I can accept Roosters comments with good grace

I love all Thailand I have seen, of course waste is a big problem.

Sanctimonious twit, suffers from delusions of grandeur, I will ignore all and every written piece by this person ion future and ensure all my Friends do the same. Why ASEAN Times or even BKK Post put up with his ramblings is beyond me

Maybe he likes being poisoned by the POLLUTION in Bangkok. !!!!Up where I am fresh air would probably kill him, now there is an idea .........hahaha

It's ASEAN NOW, where you are posting, not ASEAN Times.. And it has no connection at all to Bangkok Post, it's part of The Nation now. Maybe you are a bit delusional..

Your wit & /or sarcasm had me in stitches.

Thanks ROOSTER

Sorry Rooster you could not pay me enough to live 24/7 in Bangkok.I'll share with you a story that cemented the idea of NEVER living there, caught a taxi to the train station it took 2 and one half hours to get there!I promised myself that day to never live in Bngkok. I've been back plenty of times to visit the wife's family and like you i tolerate it for a few days tops then it's time to get the hell outta Dodge.

Then there's the pollution. It is brutal in the dry season and the traffic jams are still as horrendous as that day in the taxi.  Thx but no thx ,i;ll pass.

Today’s is yet just another long-winded rant by a rapidly declining irrelevant creature. I grew tired of his ridiculousness many, many posts ago.

Im assuming that 90% of your post was a blatant wind up so have disregarded it , surprised though that the mods have allowed such blatant trolling.

As for the part attacking her majesties funeral , and the British royal family in general, the irony does not escape me.

I would have thought after 40 years residence in Bangkok , you would be more aware of the scope of Thailands Les Majestes law.

Ahh your description of living in the sticks, so wonderful!

Yours sincerely

Is it true the Les Majestes law covers disrespecting any Royal in the world not just Thai royalty? Perhaps not intended but can be interpreted that way?

Rooster should get a job at a Rupert Murdoch publication.

Chiang Mai has seen very little smoke this past burning Season.

The weather has actually been perfect so far this year.

We can drive everywhere as well, without having to sit in traffic for

7 hours to get to a destination 4 kilometers away : )p

They mostly seem to be retirees without any money. So I guess they have no alternative but to pretend that living in the sticks is the way to go.

How dare you categorize all, stay in your filthy smog filled city if that's what you want, I live on Koh Chang and the beaches are kept clean by resorts, and my wife is a trash hero who gives up her time to clear other islands. Oh and I have enough Money without having to work, something you should have thought about in your youth ! Please don't come to KC again.

Good reading Rooster…

An absolute wind up. ???? Either that or you should chill before putting fingers to keyboard. Perhaps a nice spliff on your balcony would be in order.

Openly admitting you are a troll. so its YOU making misleading headlines. NOT Funny.

Must be the 'Yank" in me - but I only counted 3 people that recognized Roosters' 'Tongue in Cheek' rhetoric.  He is (what do the Brits say??)  'Having you on', as he knew this would elicit a lot of continued rhetorical comments..............as for Up-Country??  Great place to visit, and jumpo off from but I wouldn't want to live there more than half a year or so             Peace

this guy is so up his he takes the  loose change and lies its for the kids piggy banks then looks down on others typical khao san road degree english teachers degree earns f...all a month thinks hes a bkk hi so go treat yourself to some therapy cretin
