Siam Rath reported that a video clip emerged that showed a former phu yai ban's son being attacked boxing style at a police station in the north east of Thailand.

It happend at the Na Don police station in Nakhon Phanom on Sunday evening.

Anuchit, 49, from Phon Thong sub-district said his 21 year old son Natthamon suffered head and body injuries and bruising following the attack on the second floor of the police station.

He explained that he had been eating with his son about a kilometer away when a pick-up pulled up that his son thought had been involved in a collision with a friend's motorcycle.

He took a picture which angered the policeman who owned the pick-up.

He called for back-up and 4/5 officers arrived and dragged his son away to the police station and beat him up.

The station chief Pol Lt-Col Bunrak Chertchu has said that the aggrieved parties would meet today to discuss compensation.

But he stopped short of disciplining the police under his command saying that a transfer out of the area was sufficient.

History has already proven that this lack of discipline is exceedingly detrimental to the image of the Police in general

'Transfer out of the area is sufficient.'

Beats me how senior officers see this as logical / appropriate.

So that they can do the same again elsewhere.

Charge the attackers with GBH and sack their boss with NO compensation.

This is a case of police brutality and for no fault or reason, i would have sued the police department but the victim probably afraid of repercussion if he will...

RTP bring the force into disrepute every time they don the uniform.  Why doesn't the National police chief do something?  It'll be machetes on children next.

The problem in Thailand is the Police are a law unto themselves. There is apparently no oversight, corruption is out of control and nobody does anything!

No surprise the police here have absolutely no oversight committee so basically they do their own investigation and punishment which usually means a few months an active post or transfer the biggest criminals in this country are the police they’re involved in every underhanded means of collecting money they put the word corruption to a new meaning TIT

I see a gift basket being ordered already

How far out of the area? Closer to his family far? Cops beating on random citizens should be strictly frowned upon.

IIRC that was one reason for the coup back in 2014.

Prayuth promised a complete overhaul of the police, military and civil service.

I wonder when he will start?

No plastic bag technique.. an improvement?

Well said, clearly there is nobody ultimately in charge, keeping the RTP within some respectable behavioral boundaries and  conrols and within the law.

That comes in his NEXT stint at PM.

Where is the White Knight "Joke' when those in his charge are sullying the good name of the police force?????

Weed clinics are opening soon.

Probably my village.

We get all the losers.

Couple of scratches, dramatics over exaggerated by optics. Optics created the problem. If those injuries are the extent of complaint, moustache has got off very lightly.

GBH,  could hardly look at those pictures.

And so it continues.. RTP are a law unto themselves.

They only see it from their perspective.

And statements like that, ladies and gentlemen, is why the BIB are considered to be unfit for purpose by so many people.
