He refused to come out, refused to cooperate, became violent and displayed a knife. Resisted arrest. Displaying a weapon takes the whole thing to a higher level of threat and risk. Violent and unpredictable. He brought it all on himself. Cops had every right to respond accordingly. Sorry, not another fairy tale about a poor farang being picked on by "racist" cops. Why is everyone trying to 'splain all this to you? Because you don't get it, and never will.

Thingamabob
Police dealt with this as well as was possible. They were arresting a deranged maniac armed with a knife. I can think of several countries, including the USA, where he would likely have been shot dead.

Unlike in the UK, in Thailand you can't use 'uman rights laws to stay in the country, probably forever, and probably at public expense. 1

Though I give the cops here very little reason to harass me, I find them to be relatively easy to deal with, and rarely ever do they overly flex their power like in the US. Some departments in the US are worse than others. Many cops there are drunk with power. Some are here too. But, not nearly as many, and they are significantly less obnoxious here. In America many people carry concealed guns on their person and is a reason for harsh detainment as well as the Democrats supporting "Defund the Police" movement.
