Yes it may be easy money for the bar girls, but when you see the state of a lot of the old and even the not so old guys, very overweight etc, the money is not really that easy for them, is it?

How bad can 15 minutes get for a week's wages?

Try being a rice farmer for a week!

The 20 something year olds in the bars probably have the same opinion about having sex with the older Western guys in the nightclubs

Cambodia is definitely is a fun and beautiful place.  I regretted leaving after a weeks holiday.

Phnom Penh, heaven for a single guy.

Definitely worth a visit.

Good luck when you get sick in Cambodia and need a decent hospital.

Phnom Penh and other larger cities actually have descent private hospitals now.

It's still not a destination for major operations but things regarding health care (at a price) have improved significantly.

What has rice farmers got to do with bargirls??

It's their normal alternative occupation.

... and their main focus... 'don't touch my beer and keep it coming'.

... went to an expat bar a couple of time near my hotel in Vung Tau VN. Same as Thailand, 99% of the foreigners are oil rig workers, been dead drunk for days, still drinking, rough as guts, I wouldn't want any one of them to enter my house.

Girls coming continuously to the bar, cuddling up and lots of I love you mister. Several times I heard 'do I know you'. Twenty minutes later girl leaves the bar with enough cash to buy 3 BMWs.

Same, same...

Getting on the dancefloor and showing the locals your dance moves

That reminds me of an old guy in Bangkok who is proud of his hip hop moves.

He told me he is so good everybody is watching. Yeah, sure...

Actually, rather like Thailand, they don't.

But Pnohm Penh has more to offer in that respect than Siem Reap.

no immigration officers busting in checking visas/

Correct! For reference, getting a Royal Kingdom of Cambodia visa is simple and hassle free. Once you get your visa at point of entry from Immigration, further extensions are done at appointed agents (usually travel agents). I have just extended my retirement (ER) visa for another year. No financial or other documentary bureaucracy needed, do not have to have a Cambodian bank account. No 90 day reports. 50 years or older to qualify for an ER visa. Mine cost 290 US$ which automatically includes multiple re-entries. You need to show your registration on FPCS (Foreigners Present in Cambodia System) - this is the responsibility of the owner/manager/friend where you reside, not you, but you must check before applying.

Now, there is a new 7-11 at the Seang Nam PTT gasoline station in Siem Reap.

The Dusit Medical Services (Bangkok Hospital) Group has 2 hospitals in Cambodia, the Royal Phnom Penh and the Royal Angkor (Siem Reap) - both very expensive!

Cambodia is cheaper than Thailand so perhaps better for those on a limited budget. However in terms of security, general facilities, hospitals, food and entertainment,Thailand is way ahead in my opinion.

I agree.

Thailand's bar prices have become ridiculous.

A beer costs as much as a McChicken set.

A lady drink costs as much as a month of 5G mobile internet.

A BF costs as much as a VIP bus from Hua Hin to Phuket.

For more than that, it will cost you as much as an AirAsia ticket to Singapore ( or even further).

No one is forcing you to enter gogo bars ????.

Come on Mac . don't be so harsh of yaself ... I'm sure you can really 'bust a move' ! ????????????

Regarding the video - better not drink and film at the same time...

I'm sure they are. But how many renowned Cambodian doctors and specialists are there or do patients have to wait for a good one to travel from Bangkok!

If you're a whoremonger, yes.

If you're a drunk, no.

Horses for courses.

Personally, I have experienced a greater warmth from Cambodian ladies. Some even say that the smile is more genuine than the famed 'Thai smile'.

The private hospitals are very good but don't go there for a liver transplant.

Cambodian prostitutes are poorer and need the money more and there's fewer customers and they are desperate to hold on to guys who use them , I found it quite sad when they try and cling onto you and want a long tern relationship or at least a regular customer

It's a silly, stupid video made by an unserious man.

I lived in Cambodia off and on 92-96. It was wild and it was a party. What drove me out was the grinding poverty and the intractable corruption and anti-democratic one party system in which they make little bones about killing adversaries. At some part you're party to it.

It's obviously much better but this guy's Cambodia is not the one that I fell in love with.

Siem Reap. The temples are destroyed looking at pictures and the experience a far away dream. Siem Reap is hot, dusty and dry.

I will say though if you're ok with issarn and you don't need a beach it could hold possibilities for you. I think PNH probably nothing I'd remember. Finally, with no healthcare I'd imagine STDs, HIV through the roof. Many of the old crowd I'd heard some three or four guys I knew at the time did die of HIV.

It's also long since (97) magnet for pedos. Expect a shake down returning to home country or even Thailand on occassion

PS single malt, great bourbons, wines insanely cheap.

Indeed, lovely people.

Cambodia is not cheaper than Thailand for the vast majority of ferrrrang. The only things that are less expensive is barhopping, booze by bottle and hookers. Getting a place you like, running ac all day night, eating ferrrrang food all meals, hookers. Then you have the costs of getting out...ya gotta get out. So, that means holidays in Thailand, Vietnam at the least. Imagine visas are still a mere formality.

Don't get sick.

Finally, if you are prone to alcoholism even if you never considered it. The time on ones hands, cheap booze... Or, drugs. There's no one there to catch you. I mean, there's no one here but there's absolutely NO ONE. You'll die in a room and be a sentence in the Cambodia Daily.

When I lived in Buriram the 3 hour journey to Siem Reap took us to an international oasis of good food and wine at sensible prices.

I think there was a pedo area somewhere out of Phnom Penh that eventually got closed down.

Probably K11

It's reputation was probably worse than what it actually was but I won't say it was unearned.

Pretty much everywhere has / had younger teens. That's what desperation and poverty breed.
