Popular Post 473geo
I guess it depends if you think a mind trained 'not to think too much' is a healthy mind However the environment created by such can give an overall relaxed appearance ???? 2 7

Popular Post OneMoreFarang
I don't know anybody who lives in Thailand and after a visit back home said something like: That was so nice, I should go back there. But then again, I guess if they would like it more somewhere else then they would live somewhere else. Personally, I would live in the middle of Bangkok even if I would have 10 times more money/income. Sometimes a little beach is nice. But I definitely wouldn't want to live in a so called first world country. They have too much first world problems and headache. 10

Popular Post KhunLA
All depends and relative to one's self. I know if I returned, I'd need a lot more money and certainly wouldn't return to any place I've already lived. Left all of those for one reason or another, and no desire to go backwards. The world is only as crazy as the headlines you believe. 2 2

LaosLover
My little section of Nimman, CM is like Aspen Colorado for one tenth the money. A single lime costs a dollar where I am from. And it's not even a proper lime. I get all of the upsides of living in Thailand with practically none of the downsides a local suffers. Had it not been for Covid, I would have moved here two years earlier. With short leases, I can also see myself in Nonthburi, Ubon, and possibly even a beach place too -tho prob more like 2 month instead of 6 for the beach or a place like Chantaburi. I did a week at The Asia Hotel behind Siam Square and I could see 3-4 months there too. 1

From the NY Times article as to the hoto above: In places like Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island and Pine Island, just west of Fort Myers, an easygoing existence that once revolved around seashell hunts, shrimping, turtle-watching, taking in sunsets over the Gulf, and the ebb and flow of a seasonal tourist economy had been obliterated.
Popular Post huangnon
I enjoy visiting the UK at least once per year. Wouldn't want to live there full time though. House prices (and rents) are crazy there now, unless you just rocked up on a beach in a dinghy. ???? I live in what I think is a nice part of Thailand. I can go anywhere else I want to in-country, for a very cheap price. Still work here, and mostly enjoying it especially as retirement is on the horizon. No complaints really.
Popular Post proton
I like they way they deal with illegal immigrants here, tow boats back out to sea and chuck illegals and over stayers in a detention centre, where they stay until they pay their fare home. UK spends billions a year just putting illegals up in cushy hotels! 5
Popular Post Photoguy21
For me Thailand is a great place to live and I have lived in a lot of countries around the world. It doesn't suit everyone of course I would say it would be hard to beat living in Thailand. 3 1
