Approx.. 6500 workers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal died while constricting those mammoth stadiums, the grounds are socked with the blood of those poor workers, all in the name of a soccer games...

Having watched the awesome women's rugby world cup over the past few weeks don't think I will be too concerned not seeing  grown men falling over at a breath of wind, especially in opposing penalty areas.

I don't care, doubt I'll watch any if it

regarding all the negativity about england goin out early etc, correct me if im wrong but last 2 competitions we have got a final and a semi. granted our friendly games recently have been shambolic but competitively we have been raising the bar..

Useless bunch of over paid haircuts. the lot of them.

England is Football, but look at them,   how embarrassing they have all been over the years.

The only reason, IMO, that Qatar is getting it is because of the publicity due to the world cup.

I've never known English people be less interested in a major football competition - esp' the World Cup - ever.

 

I live in London and you usually see "White van man" with England flags flying everywhere, private cars with flags, pubs decked with flags in and outside.

 

Massive supermarket beer promotions etc. The papers full of it from every angle.

 

Barely anything - maybe the current mood of the nation.

 

From a footballing/marketing perspective it's close to a non-entity compared to usual.

I used to love watching football but nowadays just don't care. 

I think Thailand can take the trophy  this year ????

Beckham got paid millions to be an Ambassador for the event and has taken stick ever since.

I think Covid had a much larger impact than people realise on top league games.

 

I used to watch all the games on TV, but the absence of fans on the terraces during covid made the games sterile. I now watch much less than I did before.

 

If fans want to change the game - stay away for set dates agreed between fans. Clubs will realise without atmosphere they have nothing to sell and no amount of marketing / PR will compensate.

 

No fans = No atmosphere = No Sponsorship/TV income,

 

 

 

 

 

I couldn’t care less about soccer. I like real sports like American football, basketball (especially March Madness) and occasionally baseball. 

Not only do I not care, but I'm annoyed because the Al Jazeera channel is all about the foootbal and hardly any news. I'm hoping it's over soon, but I have no idea when because I care so little about it I won't even look up that detail.

Well, I somehow missed the wonderful opener, Qatar - Ecuador.

 

Will definitely save it on my computer to be able to watch it again and again.

Probably not. Would have been ok if the world class Thailand team was in it but not with the amateur teams that are.
