Eating Thai food, Thai massage and spa treatments, going to the beach and visiting historical sites are the most popular activities among foreign tourists, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

 

A survey, conducted by the TAT, shows that 90.75% want to eat Thai food, followed by 48.23% who want to experience Thai traditional massage and spas, 48.12% prefer going to the beach and enjoying sea-related activities and 46.22% prefer visiting venues of historical importance.

 

The five medical services most sought after by the tourists are medical check-ups, bone and joint treatments, treatments related to heart and vascular diseases, metabolic and dental treatment.

Yeah sure they come for THai food with coke because alcohol is not available during daytime... and of course the massages are very popular especially the happy endings. But all the rest is not real news and only to create a feel good thing...Maybe a good real survey would help

What percentage of massage parlours offer a masturbation service  ?

   Many legitimate massage parlours do not offer that service

It used to be quite a popular thing for single working men about 20 years ago , they would save up all year and go to Thailand for six weeks of alcohol and sex over Christmas .

   Not sure how often that happens these days though , prostitution is widely available back home and you can watch free porn on the internet these days and there's now no need to go abroad just to see naked females

Yes, but you can find those services back at home these days and there's no need to travel to Thailand , 

OMG. Who did they ask these questions? Most probably family tourists who come with families. Single male tourists who come here alone or with friends come only to sample their future brides to live on a "wife visa" or sex orgy because sex workers in their home country have rejected them and gone to men from Dubai for more money.

You wont be getting much for 500 Baht, quality/looks wise

Tourists come here because it is cheap, and that goes for almost everything.

I can find a good hotel room anywhere in Thailand for about $30 a night. In Australia, the most ordinary motel or hotel room will cost me three times that, minimum.

The same with a legit massage, less than $10 an hour here, minimum $70 in Australia.

Many tourists walk through these areas (Soi Cowboy in Bangkok is another one) to look only. There are lots of people walking and some drinking outside and fewer inside. And that was already like that long before Covid.

 

 

I believe currently there are a large number of tourist here to escape being drafted back in Russia. They seem to eat some Thai food so maybe that is the answer they give on their survey.

Quite similar to the FMP  , about 90 % of the people there seem to go there just to have a look and watch other people partying , rather than participating themselves
