Wow... so sad!   NancyL was a longtime and active member of the forum, and AFAIK, did a lot especially to assist elderly foreigners living in the Chiang Mai area with care issues.

  • I remember Nancy winning a well deserved "poster of the year" here on the forum and the tales of your Ginger cat.[mr bitey?)   You were a great help to many on and off this forum, RIP.

  • Mid-70's maybe. No major health issues. She was actually at an expat function and appeared to be fine. She went to sleep that night and never woke up. So sad for everyone but mostly her husband of man

Agree, she knew a lot about the Chiang Mai scene. RIP.

I had a few instances to interact with her over the years on a couple of different issues, and I always thought she was a wonderful, caring woman who had devoted a lot of her retirement years here to helping others.

She will be missed, and the farang community here is worse for her loss.

That's a shocker, was she old?

Is it not obvious or just trolling along? Try some respect.

Very sad to hear this.

A bright light in the expat community, and a genuine caring person.

She will be missed.

I'm shocked to learn that Nancy has passed away but am grateful that she did so in her sleep. She was a huge force in the CM expat community and also a friend I had known for many years. Nancy was originally from Michigan where she and her husband ran a successful garden center. Nancy was always willing to give advice and to help others, usually her advice was spot on. Her frequent challenges to CM Immi. rules and ways of working drew the attention of senior figures which put her at risk yet still she didn't stop championing the things that were right. This is a real loss to the CM expat community, RIP Nancy, my deep condolences to Roger, my thanks to Keane.

Nancy was a wonderfully caring person, always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and a great help to many elderly ex-pats here in Chiang Mai. She will be missed.

R.I.P. Nancy.  Roger, my deepest condolences.

Quite a loss

I hope her husband has/receives a lot of emotional support to help him through this. Nancy would want that.

That's very sad news.  She had been a member of this forum for many years, and always very helpful with her advice.

RIP Nancy

She was a masterclass on so many topics, probably helping tens of thousands online alone.   You could read the passion in her posts.

We mourn her loss as well.  She provided knowledgeable information on pensions and taxation that benefited us greatly.  She never failed to respond to my questions or comments.....R.I.P.

I am shocked to hear  this news.

Having been a member of this forum since 2004 I have had many interactions with Nancy down the years.

A kind caring, considerate lady who gave a lot if herself to the foreigners living, or having problems living here.

My condolences to her husband, the forum will never be the same again without her.

RIP Nancy
