Victory V was not soap, they were hot sweets ????

  • Now obviously this is aimed at the Brits.   But did notice a chip(crisp) sandwich.   I don't need to 'remember' that I still eat those to this day!

  • How many kids of today get clobbered by their Mum for bending two spoons beyond recognition  while repairing the puncture on their bike?  Nobody!

18 of them. :giggle:

IZAL toilet paper the worst in the world.

Nasty business, way to hard, sandpaper would have worked better.  most uk schools used it. :bah:

I am surprised that they have pictures of all those things.

It seems photography was already invented at that time. ????

A reflection of age or memory or a combination of both!

I did not remember "girl's world". That's my story and I am sticking to it ;+)

Ahh, the washing machine and milk bottles (on the doorstep every morning)… instantly transported back to simpler, happier times!

In 1974 my band and I went to Norway for the first time and this song, Forever & Ever, was top there. I 5hagged my first Nog to this song. Ahhhh what memories.

The Marmite makes the sandwich marginally healthy.

There is a difference between CRISP & CHIP butties, in UK anyway.

Both are a culinary masterpiece. 555

I'm enough of an Anglophile to understand the difference between a crisp sandwich and a chip butty.

And at our age, screw the healthy cr**p, I just eat what I enjoy

It would be difficult to find less healthy food than Marmite and chip butties.

I remember milk being delivered in bottles by horse and cart in the Sydney CBD in 1974.

Of course it wouldn't. Double the amount of chips! 555

Much to the chagrin of my wife who’s a fantastic cook and cooks 95% of the meals at home, at about age 5 my son thought I was the best cook in the world...

When I was on ‘duty’ (wife had gone out) I’d make him a Ham ’n crisp sandwich...  make up an adventurous story of how this is what I ate when I discovered Antarctica, hitching rides with giant eagles and on hump-back whales etc...

Crisp Sandwiches... still can’t be beaten to this day !!!

Working class people food. Hardly a culinary masterpiece.

I can honestly say I've never, nor will I ever, eaten crisps or French fries in a sandwich.
