Should I return to the UK - difficult decision!
I was in Heathrow this last February. Uh, are you kidding me? there were literally thousands of immigrants it is a national catastrophe. Every single day it must be getting worse. Back here in Thailand I met a bloke that used to drive an ambulance in London. He told me he flew back to London a few years ago, shook his head, and immediately flew back to Thailand the next day. I'll be honest I did like visiting London, even now it's a great city and most people really nice. Outside of London in many cities must be even nicer. The problem is the corporations are trying to ruin it all, and they might be succeeding. -

Trump's Plan to Denuclearize and Cut Defense Budget in Half
I see the thread about Trump's alleged "mental decline" is still going strong. Has this been mentioned on the forum at all? Trump's cozying up to Russia and China may have massive ramifications. If things go according to plan, a lot of money that is currently being spent on defense will spent on more productive things. And yet, apparently, his mental health is declining. https://www.axios.com/2025/02/13/trump-china-russia-military-spending Trump wants U.S., China and Russia to cut military spending in half -

Should I return to the UK - difficult decision!
I agree. I could quite easily have pointed out our home in Thailand is a 1.5km walk to the nearest public transport, despite only being 10kms from town. Nothing after 5pm. In UK, buses go past our home, £2 per journey. Buses run until midnight. -

Report Thieves Caught Red-Handed Stealing Makati CCTV Cables
Picture courtesy of Manila Bulletin In a recent operation, Makati City Police successfully arrested three notorious thieves attempting to steal fiber-optic cables from CCTV cameras at the Guadalupe overpass. This security boost was confirmed by Makati Police Officer-in-Charge, Col. Reycon Garduque, on June 27. The suspects, known by the aliases Vincent, John, and Darwina, had previously targeted the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) cameras. They returned to the scene to continue their criminal activity but failed to spot patrolling officers nearby. Caught in the act of cutting the new cables, all three were promptly arrested. Identified as scavengers, the suspects later led officers to a junk shop where they had sold stolen cables before. Fortunately, police recovered a bundle of these cables, which will serve as critical evidence in their case. Col. Garduque confirmed that the trio will face charges of theft. This incident follows a statement from MMDA Chief Information Officer, Sharon Gentalian, who disclosed on June 20 that cables essential to the No-Contact Apprehension Policy's (NCAP) CCTV system had been stolen for profit. These cables were crucial for connecting the cameras to the MMDA command center. "During a test last week, our team noticed an unusual humming sound from one CCTV unit. This led to a scheduled troubleshooting on June 24, during which the theft was discovered," explained Gentalian. The arrest highlights a significant win for local law enforcement, ensuring that critical infrastructure remains secure for public safety. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Manila Bulletin 2025-06-27
