Siam Rath reported that a Thai lady and a relative went to the UN HQ in Ratchadamnoen, Bangkok, with a letter appealing for justice for her Polish husband.

They had placards that read "UN Please Save our Family" and "Poland is not Safety (safe) for Michal".

This came after a Polish man called Michal Wielehinki (probably misspelt) was arrested on overstay in Koh Samui and taken to the IDC (detention center) in Suan Phlu, Thung Mahamek, Bangkok.

Sornsiri Khittook is complaining about her husband's passport being returned to the Polish Embassy by Thung Mahamek immigration.

She said that her husband was arrested on December 8th 2022 and was taken to court where a fine was paid and a deportation order issued.

He was then locked up in the IDC in the Thai capital.

This is a rather unpleasant facility behind the scenes at the immigration center in Suan Phlu.

Sornsiri said that a request to Thung Mahamek immigration had been made to send her husband to a third country, not Poland.

They refused and then sent his passport to the Polish embassy. It was not out of date.

She said that returning the passport to the Polish embassy meant certain death for her husband.

Siam Rath clearly didn't ask her why this was the case.

ASEAN NOW has attempted to contact both the man at the center of the case and his wife and will follow up if a reply is forthcoming.

Meanwhile anyone on Samui who is aware of the case is welcome to contact our newsdesk.

Looks a bad dude. Wanted by Interpol, on a red notice, for firearms offences & assault. He's also 36 days over stay on a students visa but never attended classes. Correct spelling of name  Michael

Oh yes, it is definitely that bad.

But that is not the key issue here.

Rather it is that they are insisting on deporting him to Poland and, for unspecified  reasons, he/his family believe he would be in danger there.

Wife should have spent her energy convincing husband not to go on overstay.

Sorry, no sympathy, self inflicted problem.

Much better than a Polish prison, I believe?

Nice! She thinks UN building is full of dumb-<deleted> folks who could be that easily manipulated. Lovely!

PS: Poland this days is like supermarket of any arms and military equipment. Not surprised.

The wife may be willing to accompany him on his trip to Poland?

I doubt she would know what the term asylum is or meant... so it would be the husband telling her to put up posters protesting, spelling errors and all

So this farang in this photo is the Polish overstayer? Really?

So if returning to Poland would be a death sentence for your beloved husband why didi he end up on overstay?

I'm sure she wouldn't have any problems going to Poland with him if it was for a holiday or if she found out how much social security she could get

I remember the fate of Victor Bout. Maybe this Polish guy can ask for assylum in the United States. Poland is the best friend of the US.

Obviously wanted in the EU for offences runs to Thailand  be it  either Pattaya, Sumui or Phuket or BKK hiding out i would assume the only way he would be killed in Poland is by Organised Crime not the Polish police see it all the time dodgy expats hiding in plain sight in Thailand  its sad ???? as  they shouldn't even be there  in the  first place

Just go to a  Starbucks in Silom and see all the Africans hanging  out with the bling and gold watches how are they there student visa ????

  • Popular Post

If the guy is wanted for firearms a red card notice out by interpol

I am sure the Polish Embassy will help him get back to Poland and face the consequences of his actions

Can see why he is using his Thai family to try and stop him being deported back there no sympathy

Considering that Ko Samui is the hotspot for northern european mafia types, he is probably some biker gang criminal on the run from his pals.

Plenty of time for the tattooed buffoon to practise his Thai skills whilst in prison.

But Poland?! That notorious den of torture, genocide and pestilence ??!?! His cute wife's petition to the UN has every chance of succeeding. In the meantime, if she needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm here.

He want be able to legally come back to Thailand after being kicked out.

I'd suggest maybe mixed up in bad business and upset the wrong people. If that was the case and he's liable to be 'offed' then he should not be sent there (no matter what my opinion of his possible guilt).

He's probably wanted in his home country, so Thailand wants to give them a chance to send over police officers to pick him up instead of merely deporting him.
