"minors"

Funny how this alignment works.  It's pretty much the case that the same politicians who insist that parents know better than government when it comes to vaccination or abortion for minors, insist that government knows better than parents when it comes to gender reassignment for minors.

All talk of sexuality should be removed from public life IMHO. Keep your private lives private.

  • A very small miniscule % of folks wants the majority to bow down to all their needs, wishes and demands. You were born a female and you want to pretend to be a male, fine but don't expect the majority

  • The comment from BritManToo was about keeping sexuality private instead of having it rubbed in our faces continuously, no mention of eradication.

Tell that to Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Chairman Mao, and Adolf ........ all communists/socialists.

Not sure is Muslims are left or right, but they want to chuck Trans of the roofs of buildings.

Bet you can’t tell the difference between Communist, Socialist and Liberal Left.

Transgender people are part of the public, citizens, members of the body politic, they are an inseparable part of public life.

Rightwing hate mongering will not change that, but it will almost certainly give rise to an increase in hate crimes against transgender people.

And look who’s defending the hate monger.

Yes and suicides especially of LGBT youth.

I agree. I don't go round shouting from the roof tops " I'm straight. I like women. Im happy to be a man". Why do those who feel differently have to tell everyone?

Let’s keep politicians out of other people’s sexuality.

Indeed. If people didn't shout about their sexuality, no one would get involved.

Pitting aside it’s the rightwing extremists doing all the shouting, you seem to have a problem with the first amendment.

Not at all. I was referring to the World. Not USA.

Also, I was referring to the individuals who insist on speaking out about how they are different, not the politicians. If you read my post you will see my reasoning. Nothing to do with politics.

You'll have to elaborate.

I think I've explained myself sufficiently.

I am generally supportive of people being able to make their own choices in life. But, this constant discussion, this constant barrage in our faces, of trans, pan, amoro, cis, non cis, boi, demiboy, dyadic, femme, gender expansive, genderfluid, maverique, etc. is so old, so over done, so obnoxious, many of us find it repulsive and a real turnoff.

Fortunately, it seems to be mostly limited to America, one of the most dysfunctional societies on the planet. And I say that as an American! There is some leakage elsewhere, but it does not appear to be taken too seriously. In the US, it is completely out of control.

I read the OP to the thread you are responding in.

But yes I get your point, you really don’t like people speaking out, you’d much prefer they kept quiet, except of course if they are rightwing politicians singling out a minority group for hate.

You haven't explained why you disagree with people "shouting" they are different (I don't see many people shouting, but never mind). Which problem does it generate. Are people harassed by other people shouting their difference at every street's corner?

I didn't say I disagree.

I said I don't see why they feel the need to. If they feel different and are happy with how they feel, why do they need to tell others about it.

No. As usual you are twisting what I said to meet your own agenda.

I have asked why certain groups of the community feel the need to speak out. Why not just get on with life?

Also, I have not condoned the speech that is the subject of this thread.

Nobody in the Left is making statements regarding eliminating a whole group of people.

I'm sure some are.  Besides, this isn't an example of someone on the right making statements regarding eradicating people.

The transphobic comment has prompted reactions of horror, with Tech expert and author Alejandra Caraballo writing that Knowles was “openly calling for genocide against trans people.” John Knefel of Media Matters also labelled the comment “genocidal.”

I wonder how they get genocide from this.  Unless we are always talking about trans people, unless there is a trans character in every story, a trans actor in every show, a trans person present in every group that holds a position of power, all trans people will die?

So how do you eradicate transgenderism without eradicating the transgenders?

 - not allow transgender people to walk around in the clothes they prefer (sorry Eddie Izzard - you are banned)

 - ban all talk of transgenders in public space including health issues?

 - Ban all transgender in media - no drag race, no Edna Everidge, no British pantomimes (there goes Sir Ian McKellan in Mother Goose then) - Priscilla, Queen of the Desert removed from Netflix

 - keep them locked up somewhere in a prison unless they agree to not "look transgender"?

What would be the penalty for a man appearing in women's clothes - the death penalty?

Ends up being the same thing doesn't it?

You are confusing transgender with transvestite or cross dressing. They're fundamental different.

You assert they speak out, some do I’m sure, many do not.

You haven’t criticized the speech that is the subject of this thread either, you’ve excused it with your argument that amounts to ‘they’ve brought this on themselves’.

How about politicians staying out of the sexuality of others?

Oh dear. Once again you are twisting what I said.

I've been asking questions. Not condemning or condoning. When you get that straight in your head, I'll listen to what you have to say.

Sexuality is on a spectrum. Just be thankful you can count yourself as being at one end of that spectrum. Others aren't so lucky.

Transgenders aren't just switching from one end of the spectrum to the other, contrary to what the haters would have us believe.

Well, to start with, I am not convinced they speak out that much (well, at least in the U.S. it seems It's rather the anti-LGBT group speaking out).

When they do, I guess It's because they are expressing their (relatively) new freedom and equal rights, sometimes mixed with provocation directed at those who are prejudiced against them). We had the same phenomenon in the past with other types of groups, for example the women (women's lib, etc...),  or black people (I'm black, I'm proud).

Well, letting a 13 year old decide on anything important, much less a sex change is bizarre, at best. There are a disproportionate number of suicides 5 years later.
