Formula 1 will NEVER go Electric !

Featured Replies

It would make no sense for such a short term racing event to go electric. It wouldn't help with global warming one bit. Can you imagine a car pulling over to "refuel" and instead have to plug in for 30 minutes. Crazy!!

Crazy?

They could swop the batteries in seconds, just like they change the tyres.

I think Netflix, with their fresh perspective, make F1 interesting.

I wonder if you've ever driven a "milk float".

Formula-E racing drives into the future with electric cars.

Of course, they're nothing like milk floats but what a good idea.

Each car has a number of bottles of milk or maybe nitro glycerin, which the driver must drop off during the course of the race, on a predetermined lap at a specific point as quickly as possible.

I gave up on F1 when the taking the knee capers was started by Hamilton, but if I hadn't, I doubt that I'd go to watch electric racing. The smell of the high octane fuel is part of what made it special.

If FI doesn't eventually go electric, most likely it will eventually go the way of the dinosaurs.
