Did you know that the judge worked for VP Harris's daughter? so he should have excused himself?

Where are you getting this ridiculous claim from? Kamala Harris' stepdaughter is 23 years old, only graduated from university two years ago and works as a model. How and why would a New York State Supreme Court justice have worked for her?

Anyway, as stated in this forum's rules:

Any alleged factual claims must be supported by a valid link to an approved credible source.

So please provide a source for this.

Again, a big nothing burger! So what is the crime of intent behind the 34 counts?

  • This case is the least of t's problems....more and bigger shoes to drop soon.

While the Defendant was being arrested in New York, the DOJ won at appeal to compel the testimony of Mark Meadows.   The Defendant is heading into a world of hurt.

Just another example of only getting information from the echo chamber and not doing any fact checking.

This is the least serious of the cases he’s facing (because of his actions) does anyone think it’s penetrating his brain that he in deep trouble or does he think he’s truly untouchable?

All of this is just white noise.  Trump or Biden will be the next President.  And regardless of the outcome of the election America will have its oldest president ever.

I am not saying it is not a crime or that in an ideal world charges are not appropriate. But would have they put the resources into this over something that happened some years ago if it wasn't Trump. Not sure. It certainly gives the right ammunition to suggest he is getting special treatment. That is if my interpretation of what has come out is correct.

Bragg's office has already prosecuted 30 similar cases in the last year. None were former presidents. He got regular treatment, except no cuffs, no mugshots.

You seem to have forgotten the multiple pieces of evidence that show Trump knew about the payments and what they were for. Firstly, there are recordings of phone calls between Trump and Michael Cohen that were used in Cohen's trial where they discussed the payments and their purpose.

Then, Trump himself admitted to the payments (but claimed they weren't compaign expenses) both in Tweets in May 2018 and in an interview with Fox News in December 2018.

Trump admits to Stormy Daniels payment

Also, as I mentioned previously, they have evidence from emails and text messages that Trump talked about delaying the hush money payments until after the election, by which time it wouldn't matter. This proves that a) he knew what the payments were for and b) that they were election-related.

If there was all that slam dunk evidence why the need for a grand jury then? Just proceed straight to indictment. Is there a grand jury for every case of white collar crime?

Could it possibly be that the "evidence" isn't that strong after all?

You need to remember that the prime individual is now a Former POTUS, and as such completing a full investigation, getting all of the evidence collected and presented to a grand jury who can also request additional evidence by subpoenas ensures that all of the ducks are in a row. Sometimes the grand jury finds that there is not enough evidence and the case investigated goes nowhere.

The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides the legal basis for grand juries. In federal criminal cases, federal grand juries are made up of 16 to 23 members. They decide whether to indict someone who is being investigated, and at least 12 grand jurors need to agree to issue an indictment.

In addition to considering whether individuals may have committed a crime, a grand jury can also be used by a prosecutor as an investigative tool to compel witnesses to testify or turn over documents.

And you could also note that Trump's lawyers have been castigated and even fined by judges for their delaying tactics.

Penalties for fraud related to the falsification of business records can include a fine of up to $1,000,000, imprisonment of not more than 20 years, or both. That times 34.

Isn't it a bit funny that after years of trying to put Mr Trump behind bars they come up with money paid to a porn star. So now the media can concentrate on this instead of the other more important issues plaguing the country like immigration, homelessness and drugs.

It isn't about money paid to a porn star, it is about falsifying business records.

So if Trump gets 4 years for each felony charge he should be getting out of jail when he is 212 years old. Now does this seem fair to you for a paperwork mistake with no underline crime?

You are spreading false information, it isn't a paperwork mistake and there IS an underlying crime which will be shown later in court.

You do know that the charges came from a grand jury after they investigated the issues. DA Bragg did not think this up.

The only ones making things up are a couple of diehard Trump adepts, who copy anything he says and never heard of fact checking.

Bill Barr's misconduct should no longer shield Trump's corruption

So what Alvin Bragg actually did by bringing the Trump indictment was to vindicate the constitutional system that Bill Barr corruptly sabotaged over and over again.

Yet there is one defense of Trump, repeated even by people who aren’t his sycophants, that does demand closer examination – the claim that Bragg, a local prosecutor, shouldn’t bring charges that the Justice Department already rejected.

But we should also remember what the Justice Department said about Michael Cohen in its sentencing memorandum, which insisted on a prison term despite his cooperation: “His offenses strike at several pillars of our society and system of government: the payment of taxes; transparent and fair elections; and truthfulness before government and in business.”

Yes, a crime which apparently is usually prosecuted as a misdemeanor.

So in their 08AUG23 motions, the attorneys for DJT can make their case that the entire indictment should be tossed.

Is the grand Jury all Democrat's? If these charges where aimed at Trump in a different  state, one where his approval was higher than 8 percent, would there be a case?

The grand jury could be all Republicans, all liberals or a mix of all and any. Please explain why you believe they are all Democrat's.

The defendant doesn’t get to choose which State he’s tried in, he’s indicted and will be tried in New York, the State where he is alleged to have committed the 34 indicted crimes.

The Defendant shall, via his legal team, be given the opportunity to question and reject jurors during the ‘Voir Dire’ process.

That’s how possible bias in juries is addressed.

It is of course an actual procedure that is employed in the administration of Justice and will not assuage the stroking of self borne grievances by those firmly on the trajectory of denial as Justice proceeds.

Save time and effort, just stick to arguing the Defendant should be above the law and should never face Justice, it’ll save you exposing your lack of understanding on how the law and the Justice system works.

Y'all are Trump silly if you think there's a snowball's chance in hell for a conviction, let alone any jail time.  At his age, he could be dead before the appeal process is done ????

New York grand jury only requires 12 of 16 jurors to agree there is a case to be made.

Good luck finding 12 people to convict in criminal court.  IF it makes it to trial.

You know what gets me about you and all the other Trump apologists on this site is not one of you have actually condemned Trump for bedding a porn star whilst married to a woman who just gave birth to his son, paid off that porn star to keep her quiet during the presidential election (as well as numerous others including a Playboy Bunny) and tried to hide the payments through 'legal fees'. Is your identity politics so strong or your love of this man so deep that you can just ignore this type of behaviour? For gods sake this man has been conning and stiffing people all his life, to include his OWN charity. Do you just ignore this or is your own standards so low that you see this as perfectly acceptable behavour?

Can't you see that this and his other, very obvious character flaws make him unfit to even hold public office never mind the presidency? Honestly I'm really interested in just what is it about this guy that makes you suspend reality and ignore integrity, honesty and severe character flaws? Do you not think a POTUS should have integrity, honesty and standards?  Do you honestly believe he is emotionally qualified to become the next POTUS?

What makes you think he will not get one?. The Prosecution will present there case and then the defense will get to present why the evidence is not correct and how the defendant did not participate in the schemes. The jury, a jury not the grand jury will then decide the defendants fate.. I rest my case.
