I was stopped at Chalong circle the other day and there were police everywhere and unbelievable but only pulling over us whiteys farangs wearing helmuts etc but as I was sitting there I noticed at least 6 motorbikes with thais with no helmets and were just waved through,,, how dare the Farangs come here and obey the laws,, just to pay off the coppers,, if you Thais don't want us to come here or live here just put an ad in the local paper and we can all just pack up and leave,, no problem

I already did. Best move I ever did for my family.

“Phuket Launches Intensive Operation to Crack Down on Foreigners Breaking the Law”

Quite so. Breaking the law is an exclusive privilege for corrupt and/or criminal Thai. Especially on Phuket, I might add.

As part of the "White Accommodation for Foreigners" project,

Thailand evidently still stuck in the dark ages.

Please, please don't crackdown on the Russians. They're all in a few spots right now, and it would be a pity to see this operation cause them to spread out.

Seems someone needs to explain, to the cops, exactly what racism is, surely only scrutinising "whites" and not any others, including Thais, is breaking a few UN conventions.

I think the colour reference was to the accommodation, rather than the foreigners being scrutinized. Must be, because if you think you have got it tough, just try having black skin while in Thailand. The level of scrutiny is much higher

The photos say it all - let's get rid of all those nasty alien and dirty farang. Welcome the Chinese zero-dollar-tourists and the Southasian crowd.

I am happy to attest, that quite obviously Phuket's finest have cleaned up their little island of virginity from all those bad Thai elements and now can concentrate on all those feeding fish illegally - I feel very safe in Phuket now!

Shouldn’t it be called

’Accommodation for white tourist project’

i honestly think that this is an open racist and xenophobic statement targeting WHITE people.

I am shocked that the government is stating this to the world’s media.

what a load of hooey, the use of the word crackdown has been used too often to describe a nonsense act by several law enforcement agencies just to show that they do something, infect, get Thai law breakers first before you turn on the foreigners.

The use of the word "crackdown " these days  seems to imply that the authorities concerned are merely doing their jobs,

things must be pretty bad in Phuket when they openly declare their war on whites lol

my advice to anyone - take phuket off your bucket list, it is an expensive rip off and the local authorities are targeting you

do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

Completely agree. Total ripoff and that was when they weren't on the white-man warpathHowever I have an obligation down there in 2 weeks, so...here I go again. Hopefully be able to keep on the pitch and avoid :1zgarz5:

Welcome to Thailand, step out out of line and you are out!

But only if you are white!

Don't recall this type of indignation when Operation Black Eagle targeting sub-Saharan Africans was launched a few years back. In fact, most on this forum were cackling and cheering the police on. Being racially profiled and targeted isn't a pleasant feeling, is it? Please remember that the next time you feel the urge to do it to someone else.

They were targeting law breakers in the Nana area.

They just named it after a bird - similar to calling it 'Operation Pelican' or somesuch.'

Is this still the eyebrow raising Red Card scheme, or are they a little on the back foot because of the behaviour of more recent bulk arrivals, vs the rest of the western world's yobbos?

Unfortunately all of us harbour some pieces of work in our society, but decades of enforced socialism seems to have produced some very anti-social individuals in other societies.

One notable group demolish buffets, while another just demolish everything they can before the law steps in.

Unfortunately, all farangs are included in this group as the average Thai looks on.

With their sustained recurring and serious criminality, they are truly ruining it for the rest of us.
