Phuket – An intoxicated Russian man was stopped by Phuket police with a taser (electric gun) after he was found to be damaging multiple cars in Wichit.

The Wichit Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified from local residents that there was a foreign man damaging cars in front of a condominium near a department store in Wichit on Friday afternoon (July 21st).

 

 

A team of about 10 police led by Lieutenant Colonel Anurak Parinyasathirakun quickly arrived at the scene four minutes after the original call. The foreign man was holding a bottle opener and uncooperative, threatening police officers and unable to communicate properly due to language barriers and intoxication.

 

Police used a taser and a wooden club to stop the foreign man, knocking him to the ground. The unidentified foreigner was taken to a local hospital for a physical and psychiatric evaluation. The Wichit Police Chief Colonel Chatree Choookaew told the Phuket Express that the foreign man is a 26 year-old Russian, but did not name him.

I love these Russian Berzerkers! I still remember the muzhik who destroyed a 7-11 on walking street in Pattaya a few months ago. He started off by headbutting his motorcycle driver!

I think the least Russians could do is to behave. They should be grateful Thailand is welcoming to them. British are rowdy only when they are drunk, Russians are built differently regardless of state. I have come across a handful of good ones, but that's because they just want to sleep with me. ????????‍♀️????????

Last month I went to see a friend who live in a condo here in Phuket and there was this couple with a load of luggage they looked Russian being the gentleman I am I was holding the doors open for them, with the little bit of Russian I can speak they tell me they are Ukrainians, I think they picked the wrong condo project to stay in it's full of Russians, ok no problem for me, so we get to the lift I let them in first then a Russian guy also walks into the lift they must have known he was Russian as they stood with their backs to him and the Russian was glaring at them, Im stood in the middle of them, Im to old for this <deleted> the lift stopped on the second floor I got out better I wait for the next one,

British, Americans, Aussies, etc., are notably absent in this story. Probably because they were not involved in wrecking things, whereas a Russian individual was.

I suppose the writer could have fallen back on the generic “foreigner”.
I see a few erroneous references to a Brit lad in Bangkok.

If somebody could get it wrong they evidently will; corollary to “Murphy’s”? 

Lock him up or send him home to Russia. 

I have friends who know younger Russians. And they say they are kind, friendly and progressive. I have no idea what percentage of the population these younger people represent, nor how representative they are of the Russian population.

 

Personally, I have met very few friendly Russians, anywhere in the world. 

I can only speak from my experience. Having run into alot of Russians both in the US, and on Phuket and Samui, 98% of them seem to be grumpy, unfriendly and gruff. Some of them are downright hostile. Likely a reflection of a very, very rough culture and environment.

 

So, perhaps it is not a coincidence that the world is not standing up to support them and show them kindness? Just an observation. 
 

Just another of the quality tourists that Thailand attracts. We see similar reports several times a week.

I know exactly where this happened now it's just been on TV, out the back of Central Florista outside the new 7/11 there, when they shot him with the tasers he hit the deck like a bag of <deleted>
