The "Thai Taxi Association" recently issued a set of guidelines titled "5 Don'ts for Women in Taxis" aimed at ensuring passenger safety, sparking intense online debate.

The post, originally shared on their Facebook page, listed the following suggestions:

1. Don’t sit in the front seat.
2. Avoid falling asleep.
3. Refrain from wearing short dresses.
4. Avoid initiating conversations.
5. Don’t admit to being unfamiliar with routes.

For any concerns or untrustworthy drivers, passengers are advised to call the hotline 1584m reported Daily News.

However, after the guidelines were published, several netizens expressed strong disagreements.

Some of the notable comments included:

- "At this rate, it's better to use Grab. I won't be using these services anymore. Too much hassle."
- "Turning a crisis into a disaster, honestly."
- "A straightforward answer: drivers need to exercise self-discipline."
- "Improvement is an endless journey."

Good that they published these guidelines. And everybody with common sense will agree.

But obviously there are always some woke idiots who don't want to understand that we live in reality. If it would be up to them, this world could be perfect.

But the world is not perfect, men desire sexy women, and some men have their desires better under control than others. And if men who are already aroused, see a drunk girl in a sexy dress, then bad things might happen.

Should these bad things happen? Of course not. Should all men all the time behave? Yes, they should. But not all of them do this.

So, females in general, and female taxi customers, do you want any advice how to avoid problems? See above! And I might add: Don't drink too much.

You are welcome.

I definitely agree, although I'd say the guidelines could be for all passengers, rather than just women. Maybe include some that may not apply to women at all, like don't get into drunken fight with driver, he may have a machete, etc etc.

Just purchase a dashcam for your taxi that records inside, with a large SD card, better to protect yourself.

The thread is about passenger safety, not driver...

Why not just come out and say, "Your taxi driver may rape you if you let your guard down?"
Welcome to the Land of Smiles.

and it's your fault because you broke the guide rules we made up to protect you against rapists that drive taxis, total nonsense.

Driver look where you are going, don't mind about the back seat.

Dont get a taxi by yourself, if possible sharer a cab with a friend. If not take a photo of the drivers details and send it to a trusted friend and call the friend and tell then the cab number making sure the driver can hear you.

if you are a foreign man, and you are out and about in the evening, then don't speak English and always keep quiet, as some Thai men don't like foreigners and will attack you. In fact, wear a sack over your head and under no circumstances have any fun, as this might antagonize these Thai men to attack you,. Now, not all Thai men are like this, but we live in the real world where some are, so you must not allowed to be yourself. Also, don't drink too much. You are welcome.

2. Keep shirts buttoned up to the neck

3. Don't admit to being a hansum man

4. Avoid going to bars you don't know already

5. Don't tell the driver he's a pain in the ass

Its been several years since our family has used a metered taxi in BKK. They have gotten so bad its just more safe, professional and price transparent to use a Grab car. Not all drivers are bad but our last experiences were totally unacceptable.
